Betty Jackson is taking a break from fashion

Betty Jackson has decided to take a year out of her busy fashion career, choosing not to show at London Fashion Week this season, or create a spring/summer 2012 collection.

But the 62-year-old designer says the news doesn’t mean the end of the label.

“We’re not closing the company, and I’m definitely not retiring,” said Betty.

Phew, thank goodness for that.

Betty has shown at London Fashion Week for the past 60 seasons, but her autumn/winter 2011 collection will be the last to be sold in the label’s London boutique, which closes next spring, reports Vogue UK.
