Yep, Debenhams hi-leg invisible shapewear briefs are a nifty investment!

We all have them. ‘Fat days’, slightly over indulged days, or days where the unsightly bulge safely tucked away under last season’s chunky knit wants to come out to play. So I decided on one of my many weekly ‘fat days’ to tackle my Michelin Man swelling by squeezing into something of a magical, sculpting scaffold – otherwise known as the shapewear phenomenon!

With the hope of banishing a not-so-flat tummy and putting my liberal love handles to rest, I trialled Debenhams’s hi-leg invisible shapewear briefs in Natural. Slipping into them, the impressive grasp of the elastic waistband around my lower tummy felt immediate. I called it the ‘scoop up’ effect, as it effectively ‘held’ it all in, compressing my lower tummy to give a more flattering and shapely silhouette – one which looked notably smooth under a hugging shift dress I chose for work.

Fitting like a glove, the shapewear briefs are a comfortable investment, but after about 3 hours of sitting at my desk, I noticed a slight fold gathering at the top of the waistband. This was the only downfall, as I felt the need to straighten the fold out a few times to prevent it showing up under my dress.

The champagne colour compliments most skins tones and sits well with sheer garments, as well as the lightweight material which eliminates all chances of the dreaded V.P.L making an appearance! A desirable curve creator and living up to its slimming status, the Debenhams hi-leg brief is a nifty investment piece and will set you well on the way to temporarily achieving that ever-enviable Bündchen body quicker than you can shout liposuction. Hi-leg invisible shapewear briefs, £15.50, available at Debenhams
