Alexander Wang launches nail polish collection; OPI releases Muppet-inspired glitter shades

Well, what do we have here? An accessory by Alexander Wang that we might actually be able to afford? Be still our beating hearts. According to reports, everyone’s favourite off-duty designer is teaming up with Sally Hansen on a line of nail polishes, set to debut at his spring/summer 2012 show during New York Fashion Week this September.

Few details about the collection – which echoes Prabal Gurung’s collaboration with the same cosmetics company, points out Style.com – have been released yet, but this does mark Wang’s first foray into the beauty world. We’ll bet the line is every bit as sought-after as his studded slouchy totes.

In other nail news, how fun are these glitter polishes from OPI? The beauty brand is launching a line of 12 limited edition lacquers in honour of the new Muppets movie, inspired by your favourite puppets.

The collection will include classic reds, a couple of metallic shades and a smattering of glittery colours with names like, ‘Fresh Frog of Bel Air: ?A glitter that prefers the greener things in life’ and ‘Gettin’ Miss Piggy With It!? Red glittery fun for everyone!’. See? Fun!

The range is set for release in early November, reports Fashionista – fingers at the ready.
