Handbag Hunter: Chloe Darla leather bag

25th August 2011 12:00 pm

Say hello to Darla. Now, with her navy blue textured leather flap-over and gold-toned hardware, it’s going to be pretty difficult to not pet her. But you might change your mind when you happen upon the attached price-tag. At £1,116, Chloe’s Darla leather bag is definitely a little out of my price range.

So, do I listen to my heart? I love the colour and it’s gold and chocolate brown highlights – plus, it’ll also work effortlessly with next season’s fabulous jewel tones. It’ll be the perfect tote to work next to my navy military coat from last season, I’ll be able to tuck it under my arm like the fashion-pack are doing now, and work it in the crook when I feel like it. Oh, and it’s Chloe.

Or should I listen to my (more sensible) head? The high street is bound to have some good runway replicas hitting the shelves soon, and at £1,116 it’s going to be difficult to orchestrate a valid reason as to why I should spend quite so much on a handbag. Anyway, next season it’s not so much which bag you’re carrying but the way you carry it, right?

It’s a dilemma and a half.
