Check out these never-before-seen black and white images of Marilyn Monroe, which were intended for none other than Look magazine, taken by John Vachon in the Canadian Rockies back in 1953.

Only Marilyn Monroe (and, more recently, Jessie J) can rock a broken foot so stylishly, non?

The publication has come a long way since these shots were taken, but even if you manage to dig out an old copy of Look, you wont have seen all of these Monroe snaps – only three actually made it into the final edition.

The pictures have now been published in Marilyn, August 1953: The Lost LOOK Photos, which not only includes the unseen images, but also contains essays about Marilyn and her time with the photographer, as well as personal letters from John Vachon to his wife, Penny.

We’ll be reading it, will you? Click through our gallery below to see the secret snaps…
