Nicki Minaj looks regal in W’s Art and Fashion issue

17th October 2011 9:58 am

Nicki Minaj, is that you? We barely recognised the Super Bass singer without her dip-dyed multi-coloured tresses and fairy-tale inspired outfits, but we can guarantee that this is indeed the same girl who is known for her wacky catsuits and crazy wigs.

We think W choosing one of the most outlandish women in pop to front their art and fashion issue was a bold and brilliant, albeit slightly, risky move.

It could easily have gone pear-shaped, with Nicki being almost unrecognisable or losing whatever magic touch she seems to have, but thankfully she managed to rock each and every look artist Francesco Vezzoli threw at her.

Her Minajesty channeled 18th century chic and although she looks a million miles away from her usual self, we have a feeling she will be very pleased with the results. After all, Nicki loves experimenting with her fashion and this is no different. We think Nicki would look very at home on the new Snow White film set in these costumes, don’t you?

About us

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
