Shock, gasp! Olivia Palermo does peach overkill at Princess Grace Awards

4th November 2011 12:15 pm

We usually love Olivia Palermo’s stylish get-ups but, we have to admit, we were a little disappointed by the peach satin dress she wore to the Princess Grace Awards in New York this week. And yes, we’re as shocked as you.

Famed for her cutting edge yet timelessly elegant style, this outfit did nothing to up her fashion cred – the mid-length peach number looked too big for her tiny frame and didn’t act to complement Olivia’s olive skin tone.

We’re also not particularly enamoured by that giant peach fur shawl. While we’re all for a bit of well-placed fur here and there, Miss Palermo’s shawl is too big, too fuzzy and too, er, peach! A contrasting shade could have been so much better.

But all that said, her Charlotte Olympia peach and gold platform heels are knockouts, and we’re completely smitten with her dainty blue panelled clutch bag.

True, there are flashes of brilliance to this outfit, but on this occasion – and we can’t quite believe we’re saying this – it’s fashion fail for Olivia.
