Is Gucci the most popular fashion brand of the year?

1st December 2011 10:43 am

It’s hard to tell what the most popular fashion brand of the year is – although in terms of which brand was the most looked for on the internet search engine Bing, Gucci was the one that came out on top for the second year in a row.

You may expect other classic high-fashion favourites such as Christian Dior and Chanel for example to directly follow, but this isn’t strictly the case. Ralph Lauren and Y-3 took second and third place respectively, followed by Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Guess, J.Crew, Coco Chanel, John Galliano, and Burberry.

We agree that all of the above brands have had a great 2011 in terms of exposure, success, collections, and in John Galliano’s case, controversy, all of which are factors that make for great internet browsing!

As much as we agree that we have searched for each and every one of the above brands on countless occasions throughout the year, we have one small question. Where on EARTH is Alexander McQueen?! You would think that given the phenomenal exposure and obsession with the royal wedding and Kate Middleton, it would hands down be in the top five, right?

What do you guys make of the results? Do you agree?
