When we heard the rumours that access to the Vogue archives (that went back over 100 years) could potentially be at our fingertips, we understandably jumped for joy, so imagine our delight when we found out the rumours were true!

The archive is powered by WGSN, and enables us to feast our eyes on 120 years of Vogue history from as early as 1892! We can’t deny that this is an amazing opportunity, but what we didn’t know was that we would have to pay an annual sum of $1575 for the privilege.

Despite the archive being the price of a very nice winter coat we have been eyeing, we have a feeling it will be worth the price. It reportedly comes with a very advanced search function, which lets you browse by decade, designer, photographer, celebrity/model, image, article and even colour, material and particular item of clothing. Additionally, you have the power to search for a specific issue, so there is no excuse for not finding everything you are looking for.

Sounds good, doesn’t it? If you can’t afford to pay the fee though, Fashionista reports that students can get free access to the archive if their colleges or universities are signed up to ProQuest. There’s your loophole, guys… we think we have some not-so-distant family members who are still at college, so please excuse us…
