Paula Patton in Dolce & Gabbana: yay or no way?

15th December 2011 12:15 pm

Is it us, or is there something a bit, um, underwhelming about Paula Patton’s Dolce & Gabbana dress?

She wore a purple leopard print dress embellished with lashings of black lace from the Italian label to the Madrid premiere of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol on Monday, finished with matching amethyst earrings, a simple up ‘do and sweet, dewy makeup.

On paper, it sounds dreamy, so why aren’t we doing cartwheels in celebration?

Perhaps it’s something to do with the combination of purple leopard print and black lace which makes the gown kind of look like left-over tacky underwear in a super-saver shop, or the extension of the sweetheart neckline that looks more and more like an owl’s head every time we look at it.

Either way, something’s not sitting right, and while we feel like we should love it, we don’t. So, experts: what say you?

Is Paula Patton's D&G dress total yay or no way?
