Jonathan Saunders, Mary Katrantzou, Richard Nicoll and more shortlisted for BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund

Jonathan Saunders, Mary Katrantzou (whose spring/summer 2012 design is pictured) and Richard Nicoll are among the candidates shortlisted for the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund – a prize which will see the winner receive £200,000 as well as one-on-one mentoring from industry experts.

Also up for the award, which has been previously won by Christopher Kane and Erdem, are Peter Pilotto, Marios Schwab, Meadham Kirchhoff, Nicholas Kirkwood and Zoe Jordan. All of the eight nominees will receive personal mentoring, although it is clear to see why candidates would want to scoop up the main prize.

British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman, Samantha Cameron and Marigay McKee were among the judges who chose the shortlisted candidates and will ultimately pick the winner.

“It’s very exciting to see such a talented group making up the shortlist and the winner will certainly be very deserving of the prize,” Alexandra Shulman said on Vogue’s website. “In this third year of the award we also hope to build on the support we can give them all at this stage of their careers.”

The winner will be announced in the March issue of British Vogue – so keep your eyes peeled!

About us

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
