Rachel Roy launches luxury shoe collection, take a peek here!

Rachel Roy (one of First Lady Michelle Obama’s favourite designers, would you believe) is expanding her empire with a fabulous new shoe collection, which is due to launch later this summer. Excited? 

Although the designer’s Rachel Rachel Roy accessories line for Macy’s means this isn’t strictly her first venture into footwear, this will be her first solo luxury shoe collection!

The line was apparently inspired by Manolo Blahnik’s use of mixed materials and textures, and having heard what the designer had to say about the collection, it’s safe to say that it isn’t for the faint hearted.

The phrase “go big, or go home” has never been more apparent if the pictures of her collection, or indeed what she says about it, are anything to go by.

“I don’t want shoes unless they are strong and sexy. I don’t want them to be just strong or just sexy,” she told Women’s Wear Daily. “My collection is just that — strong and sexy. It represents the woman I want to be.”

Prices will range from $195 – $600, with pumps expected to be within the $225 to $325 range.
