Ah, suddenly all is right with the world again. After a painfully long mid-season break, Gossip Girl returned to our screens this week, and now one of its main stars has returned to our magazine covers!
Blake Lively, aka Serena van der Woodsen, is posing beautifully for the Elle US March 2012 front cover in a halter-neck Victoria Beckham dress – a fine, fine choice of cover star for a March issue we must say.
Although we feel this layout and colour scheme is a little “been there, done that” (it kind of reminds of us Britney Spears’ Harper’s Bazaar cover from June 2011 with the long, flowing blonde locks, sideways posing and white ensemble) but as always, Ms Lively has brought something new to the table and has made it work for her.
Tom Munro has captured Miss Lively at her best angles (which, as it happens, is all of them!) in a fine selection of hot-off-the-runway clothes from the likes of Isabel Marant, Victoria Beckham and Michael Kors.
Blake Lively is more than just a pretty face (and gorgeous body), as she provided a very real – and sometimes downright funny – interview to accompany her editorial pictures. Our favourite snippet came while she was discussing having children…
“I hope to have a few girls one day,” she said. “If not girls, they better be trannies. Because I have some amazing shoes and bags and stories that need to be appreciated.”
Amen! The March 2012 issue of Elle magazine is very fittingly out on Valentine’s Day!
