Eva Mendes talks to Marie Claire US about body image, Ryan Gosling, and her girl crush on Julianne Moore

Both Eva Mendes and the beyond gorgeous Dolce and Gabbana dress that she is wearing on the Marie Claire US March 2012 cover get a massive “wow” throughout the MFL office!

The 37-year-old’s acting career has gone down a noticeably different path, as her new film Girl in Progress sees her play a character we aren’t used to seeing from Eva,  but she appears to be taking it all in her stride.

“She’s a disaster, a mess, which I really love,” she told Marie Claire about the woman she plays.

As well as discussing her new film and of course, her gorgeous boyfriend Ryan Gosling (swoon), Eva talks about body image. Being one of the most beautiful women in the world, it’s hard to believe she used to feel insecure about her looks….

“What I tell girls is what they don’t like about themselves now, they will probably end up loving as an adult, because that’s what happened to me,” she said. “When I am complimented on things that I didn’t like when I was 13, like my overbite and my mole, that’s when you realize that your imperfections are why people love you.”

We couldn’t have put that better ourselves! We’re going to ignore the over-enthusiastic airbrushing on Eva’s right arm on the front cover and say that it is one of our favourite American magazine covers this month… do you agree?
