MAC to launch Marilyn Monroe collection later this year!

23rd February 2012 10:07 am

After collaborating with the likes of Daphne Guinness, Beth Ditto, Lady Gaga and even Miss Piggy, MAC makeup is going back to basics by turning to the original Hollywood sex siren for makeup inspiration… Marilyn Monroe.

WWD reports that MAC – which, by the way, was responsible for a host of stunning catwalk looks throughout London Fashion Week – will be partnering with Authentic Brands Group LLC, the brand which acquired the intellectual property of Marilyn Monroe last year.

The collection will feature around 30 pieces including  nail polishes, eyeshadows, eyeliners and of course lipsticks, one of which will undoubtedly come in a bold, scarlet colour to help people achieve Marilyn’s perfect, seductive pout. Prices range from $15 and $27, and the collection is slated for launch in October this year!

We think this is a fabulous idea, but frankly don’t understand why it wasn’t done sooner. At least this collection promises longevity, as we don’t think the Marilyn Monroe obsession will pass any time soon. Will you be buying anything from the collection?

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
