Crushing on Zooey Deschanel’s 1950s New Girl look!

29th February 2012 12:30 pm

After a few days of all-out Oscars glam, we’re toning things down today and featuring a more casual look, courtesy of the beautiful Zooey Deschanel. She may be dressed down, but that doesn’t make her any less fabulous.

Zooey is pictured in an all-blue ensemble on the set of her utterly brilliant sitcom New Girl, and we have to say that we adore the 1950s vintage feel to her outfit. We love how the wardrobe department of the show has mirrored Zooey’s personal style, as that’s one of the biggest reasons why Americans and Britons alike have fallen in love with her.

We can learn a few lessons from this look too! The vibrant blue cardigan is an outfit saver on so many levels. Adding a cardi to a cute dress instantly makes it more casual and more appropriate for day-wear, but the sheer vibrancy of the colour (as a standalone piece and when paired when a dress of a lighter hue) adds to the wow factor of the ensemble.

With the waist-cinching belt and matching black pumps, Zooey’s outfit is flawless. Plus, how adorable does she look in the picture?

(New Girl is on Channel 4 on Fridays at 8:30 pm)
