Rate or Slate: Reese Witherspoon vs. Whitney Port vs. Miley Cyrus

14th March 2012 3:00 pm

This week’s Rate or Slate is another tough feat! We’ve got three A-list beauties, all of whom in their own rights are definite trend-setters.

This week’s ladies on the style line are Reese Witherspoon in Erdem at the This Means War Brazil press conference; Whitney Port in All Saints at the Didier Drogba Foundation Charity Ball in London and Miley Cyrus at the LA premiere for The Hunger Games in Emilio Pucci.

Only the discerning eye of our outfit dissecting Style Jury can really decide the fashion fate of these starlets. It’s over to the jury….

My Fashion Life Fashion News Ed says:

Reese Witherspoon: ‘Reese doesn’t need a bright, summery outfit to add sunshine to her look, but this dress certainly helps. Love herCaliforniagirl look –plus she is WORKING that fringed ‘do!’

WhitneyPort: ‘I’m in two minds about this look; the Grecian look works well with the honey tones of Whitney’s hair and complexion (plus, the jewellery is spot on) but there’s something about it that’s a tad frumpy. Cheryl Cole did Greek chic perfectly a few weeks ago so, comparatively speaking, I’ve seen better but I don’t hate it.’

Miley Cyrus: ‘I raved about Miley’s Emilio Pucci ensemble yesterday, and completely stand by every positive word. She’s establishing herself as quite the little fashionista, and I’m excited to see what she does next. Absolute fave!’

You say:

‘Miley looks amazing!!!X’ – @EllaVS

‘Miley is on top’ – @nohanooon

Verdict: Rate to the power of two!

Miley and Reese are the undisputed favourites, and translated their fabulous sense of style perfectly with the Emilio Pucci and Erdem looks, respectively. Although Miley’s midriff flaunting could have turned into a fashion fiasco, she pulled it off (must be those taut abs) and we love her for it! Reese’s floral tribute was rather fitting for the Rio sunshine and we totally heart it. The usually perfectly fashioned Whitney failed to impress in her All Saints frump o’clock maxi dress, after making such an impressive fashion statement at the Rodial Beauty Awards last week.
