3 ways to wear the spring-fresh shirt dress!

24th April 2012 2:30 pm

Your spring wardrobe doesn’t need to be bulging at the seams with trend led fads. Instead, insert a wardrobe staple into the mix, easily, with only a touch of SS’12.

The shirt dress is a versatile number: part shirt, part dress (the clue’s in the name really!), it’s a fabulous and essential wardrobe addition that can be transformed from pretty to preppy in no time!

Because we’re such spring/summer geeks, we couldn’t resist a splash of faded power-flower print, and who better to add some grit to an otherwise ditsy dress than street-girl saviour, Alexander Wang.

Pale petrol blue fading into black with a gathered waist detail ensures this is the pretty dress for hard fashion girls. We love the crisp white collar and the versatility of this botanical print shirt dress when it comes to layering.

And here are three ways to style this piece of 100% silk perfection!

Look 1:  Teah Blazer, Reiss; Alexander Wang Emina sandal, Shopbop

Look 2: Waistcoat, H&M; Dolce & Gabbana Silk-mesh and satin sandals, net-a-porter

Look 3: Clutch, Zara, Brandi heels, Kurt Geiger

About us

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
