Maternity fashion through the eyes of New Look

1st May 2012 12:08 pm

Waiting for Jessica Simpson to give birth (she MUST be about to drop by now, surely?!) has made us get a tad nostalgic, which is why we felt the need to take some time to reflect on some of the celeb pregnancies that have come our way recently. And by celeb pregnancies, we really mean maternity fashion.

We have to obviously start with Beyonce and Victoria Beckham, two goddesses who maintained their pre-pregnancy glamour throughout. We seriously don’t know how they managed it, but they are living proof that it is possible to wear your sky-high Louboutins until the very last day!

Then there were first-time-mums Hilary Duff, Una Healy (from The Saturdays) and Natalie Portman, who toned it down a tad but still managed to look gorgeous.

All of these wonderful women had different maternity styles, but the one thing they had in common was that they all looked flawless. Maybe it’s the pregnancy glow that we keep hearing so much about, or maybe it’s just because they all wore what made them feel good. To reflect on what Russian supermodel Irina Shayk said when we interviewed her last week – if you feel good, you’re going to look good… which is what we think the secret behind maternity fashion is.

After doing some research, we stumbled upon this video by New Look which we thought was a cute and very helpful insight into maternity fashion. In case you don’t want to take maternity style advice from the celebs and want to take it from real people, this is perfect for you. The video showcases the pregnancies of three very different (but in some respects, very much the same) women, and shows off a range of different ways to wear maternity fashion. Yes, all the clothes are from one retailer, but it’s very easy to improvise!

We hope you find the vid helpful and inspirational!
