Raf Simons covers i-D’s summer issue, talks Jil Sander and Christian Dior (natch)

4th May 2012 9:33 am

Since Raf Simons has been propelled into an entirely different league of fame now that he has taken over from John Galliano at Christian Dior, a magazine cover seems very fitting. Not just any cover mind… the cover of the ‘Lights, Camera, Action’ issue of i-D magazine, which we think you’ll agree is as fitting as they come!

Raf Simons naturally opens up about his final bow at Jil Sander and of course his new job as Artistic Director at Christian Dior. We’ve only read a few snippets, but it’s very inspirational… it looks like he’s adopting the romantic and poetic nature of the House of Dior already!

“Fashion is not there to educate you, but to challenge you,” he said. “Sometimes I speak with young kids and I have the feeling… not that they have no interest, but that they look at it in a different way. This is the reason I chose to do fashion, to create a dialogue and bring people together.”

You can get your paws on the issue from May 10th… not long to wait!

About us

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
