Marchesa’s contemporary line is definitely happening!
We heard on the grapevine last month that Marchesa could well be launching a contemporary line with LF USA, but we didn’t hold our breath – you know how out of control fashion rumours can get…
However, founders Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig have confirmed that the lower priced, contemporary Marchesa line IS happening… which means that you now have permission to join us in a celebratory happy dance!
“We have always had a vision for Marchesa to be a lifestyle brand,” Georgina Chapman told WWD. “We have been very specific for eveningwear so far. We always had this dream Marchesa could transcend into all different areas of lifestyle.”
“It’s going to be under the Marchesa umbrella, but with a slightly different feel. We have been so specific for such a long time, and the idea to broaden out to a different consumer, and to our same consumer as well. We haven’t really looked at that market yet. My dream is to give Marchesa many facets, and that’s just one of them.”
Y’hear that ladies… just one of them! That means there could be even more Marchesa to come! The collection is due to launch at some point in 2013… watch this space!
