Aquascutum sold to Hong Kong company

11th May 2012 9:16 am

We can all breathe a sigh of relief – Aquascutum might not be in danger after all. Yippee!

The brand – which was in serious trouble just last month and even went as far as cancelling all press days – has now been sold to Hong Kong based trading company YGM for an undisclosed sum of money. Not that it really matters – Aquascutum isn’t going anywhere for the time being, and that’s the important thing!

“We are delighted to announce the sale of Aquascutum, safeguarding the jobs of over 100 employees and the presence of the iconic Aquascutum brand in the United Kingdom,” said Geoff Rowley, a spokesperson for FRP Advisory. “We hope that, under new ownership, the Aquascutum brand and business will have the best opportunity of success and growth – both in the UK and worldwide.”

That’s what we like to hear! We’ll keep you posted with any more developments.

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
