The Cannes Film Festival Days 3, 4 and 5 – the best dressed

21st May 2012 9:48 am

We have a lot of red carpet action from the Cannes Film Festival to catch up on, so let’s crack on and get straight down to business.

The stars really didn’t hold back over the weekend, and we are in a bit of a tizzy as we try to narrow down some of the ultimate best dressed A-listers.

Firstly, we have to mention Diane Kruger, who is fast becoming our firm Cannes favourite this year. Not only did she scoop our ‘best dressed of the week’ prize when she wore Jason Wu, but she made our jaws once again drop as she rocked up to the Amour premiere in a stunning custom Vivienne Westwood  gown.  We don’t think there is a simile, metaphor or comparison worthy enough to do her justice.

Another lady we definitely have to give a mention to is our wonderful pint sized Geordie Cheryl Cole, who made her first appearance in a show-stopping Stéphane Rolland Couture dress. We are genuinely a little bit gutted that the train of her dress blend in with the red carpet so much so that it loses quite a lot of impact. However, the fact that it’s still one of our favourites says quite a lot about the sheer beauty of it. And Cheryl!

It wasn’t just the actresses and singers that earned a place on our best dressed list, oh no… the models were also at it too! Natasha Poly took our breath away in her gorgeous Gucci dress, which she teamed with very dramatic eye make-up and lots of leg to boot! Look at that supermodel pose… Natasha sure knows how to work a dress!

Jada Pinkett Smith also knows how to pose like a pro and rock a fab dress to the max, which is exactly what she did with a bright orange Aterlier Versace number. Donatella would be proud!

Jessica Chastain gave us not one, but two best dressed-worthy looks, courtesy of a stunning white dress from Giorgio Armani, and again by way of a metallic gold (you know we love the trend!) one from Gucci. Everything from her hair, make-up and accessories was spot on.

Fan Bingbing makes another well deserved return to our best dressed list in a phenomenal Elie Saab creation, as does Lana Del Rey, who rocked a cream Moschino pantsuit, which she teamed with loose, flowing waves and a very bling-tastic Chopard necklace and earrings. Understated it is not!

We think those looks should keep you going for a while… can you pick a favourite amongst these beauties?

Which Cannes weekend look are you feeling the most?
