How much did Carey Mulligan’s Met Gala dress fetch?

22nd May 2012 9:11 am

Remember a couple of weeks ago we told you that Carey Mulligan was auctioning off her one-of-a-kind Prada dress that she donned for the Met Gala? Well, bidding has closed and we can finally reveal how much the sparkly dress fetched when it went under the virtual hammer. Drumroll please…

$2950. What do you think? Are you underwhelmed? Because we kind of are…

Don’t get us wrong, that really is a cracking amount of money to donate to charity, but considering it was a custom creation worn by one of the hottest and most in-demand celebs of the moment, we kind of expected a lot more zeros to be at the end of that sum.

Still, we bet the winner of that auction is chuffed with his or her purchase; we hope the dress has gone to a good home as we know the money raised will do a world of good!

Hopefully Rosie Huntington Whiteley’s dress will do better next week!

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
