Christian Louboutin unveils his Cinderella shoe design!

5th July 2012 11:10 am

Christian Louboutin has finally unveiled the glass slipper he designed for Cinderella, to coincide with the re-release of the classic Disney film.

Most Louboutins already make us girls feel like Princesses when we slip them on, but we think the designer really has outdone himself this time. If Cinderella went to the ball in 2012, we think this is exactly the kind of shoe her fairy godmother would have whipped up for her.

The inspiration for the design was pretty simple…

“It’s a very classic fairy tale about love and the dream that love is absolutely pure,” the designer said. “Her character and her story dictated the design to me. It was all there in the pages and the words of this tale.”

The ‘glass slipper’ is actually made of lace to give the illusion of transparency, features two gorgeous butterflies, lots of glitter and Swarovski crystals and of course, come with his signature red sole.

Best of all, 20 pairs of the shoes will actually be given away – details of the competition will emerge on August 17th so keep your eyes peeled!
