Deets on the secret Dolce and Gabbana Haute Couture show…

11th July 2012 11:03 am

Even though Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s debut Dolce and Gabbana Haute Couture show in Sicily was shrouded in secrecy, we still managed to find a pic of one of the key looks – a gorgeous fairytale inspired floral ballgown!

Three publications (The Daily TelegraphLe Figaro, and Corriere della Sera) and some of the world’s richest (and of course, stylish) women were invited to the show, in the hope that they would snap up a few of the 73 dresses that made it down the Couture runway.

“When we started out 27 years ago, our dream was to become a maison like Chanel, old Chanel,” said Stefano Gabbana. “And now, maybe, this dream is coming true.”

We’ll say! And if you’re wondering why the event was so hush-hush and all the guests were requested to not get too snap happy or post the pics they took online, it’s because the boys said their clients didn’t want to see their dresses in magazines!

We hope some more pics of the collection will emerge within the next few days, but even if that one image above is all we have to go on, we’re happy to take a stab in the dark and say the boys’ Couture debut was a roaring success.
