Earlier today, Kate Middleton arrived at the National Portrait Gallery to view the Olympic-themed Road to 2012: Aiming High exhibition.

The Duchess of Cambridge actually features in the exhibition herself too… remember when she played hockey with Team GB? Jillian Edlestein took a black and white picture which is now on display at the gallery. Pretty cool, huh?

Kate naturally went for a patriotic colour for the event, and made her outfit even more so by choosing a dress by Stella McCartney – the designer who created the official Team GB kit. All very clever of Kate! And there wasn’t a single L.K Bennett shoe in sight, as the Duchess actually wore black Prada shoes. We don’t know where her necklace is from, but we think the fact that it looks like an Olympic Gold was very appropriate. We doubt it was a coincidence.

Get ready to see a lot more of Kate Middleton in the next few weeks,  as she’ll be showing her face at a lot more Olympics themed events. Yay!
