Wedding Trends 2012

19th July 2012 6:00 pm

For any fast approaching summer weddings it can be a nightmare finding something on-trend and appropriate. It’s not too late to tap into those spring/summer trends, but for the savvy shoppers amongst us it’s worth thinking ahead to get the most out of our wardrobes. After all, beautiful wedding outfits don’t come cheap!

Colour
Picking the hot colour of the season could be tricky if you’re a bridesmaid, but for the rest of us we should be wearing purple. Choose luxurious violet or amethyst for a look that will take you through to autumn/winter, and to give it a more summery feel mix deep purples with more muted tones such as lilac and grey.

Print
Floral print is in every year, and this year is no different. This trend may not be ground-breaking but it’s so easy to create a feminine wedding worthy look. For this season look for graphic floral print in pastel hues, or for a floral print that will take you through to next year opt for a vibrant floral print which can be toned done with neutral accessories.

Shape
There is one vital rule here when choosing the right wedding outfit… always opt for a length that sits on the knee or longer. The most popular length for this season and next is the midi. Opt for an elegant A-line shape that cinches in at the waist, creating an hour-glass silhouette that will flatter most figures!

About us

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!

Editor’s Pick
