BFC names eBay as new Fashion Forward sponsor

26th July 2012 11:01 am

Good old eBay – it gives us great bargains all year, but now it’s going to contribute to the fashion industry in a whole new way, as the British Fashion Council has welcomed it as a sponsor of its Fashion Forward initiative!

“Fashion Forward is one of the British Fashion Council’s talent support initiatives; designed to help emerging British designers show and develop their businesses here in London,” said Caroline Rush, a spokesperson for the BFC. “eBay‘s sales statistics are overwhelming and we hope they will help to bring opportunities to the designers they support.”

Fashion Forward supports seven designers each year, with the current recipients including Mary Katrantzou (you can see one of her creations above), Henry Holland, James Long and Louise Gray.

We can also look forward to eBay‘s Save the Children Born to Shop initiative, an online charity auction which will sell one-of-a-kind designer pieces during London Fashion Week. One of the items you can get your hands on is the teal Burberry dress Samantha Cameron wore to the Royal Wedding last year, which we have to admit is kinda cool.

Keep your eyes peeled for more deets when we get them!

About us

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
