An explosion of colour is exactly what we expected from Katy Perry’s September cover for Elle US, so we definitely weren’t disappointed when we first clapped eyes on the issue.
A bright pink background, a bubblegum-hued dress and bright purple hair (with a thick and totally on-trend blunt fringe no less) are among the vital ingredients in the recipe for the perfect September cover from the pop star.
Katy poses for Carter Smith in an array of covetable catwalk pieces from the likes of Yves Saint Laurent and Bottega Veneta, as well as opening up about a number of topics, including moving on from Russell Brand and how she likes to be wooed by the opposite sex.
“I’m a woman who likes to be courted, strongly,” Katy said in the accompanying interview. “Never say never, I guess you’d say. I’ll let love take the lead on that.”
