Five Women’s Coats to Battle the Cold

4th October 2012 10:11 am

The winter months are closing in fast and it is nearly time for us to dig out the thick, winter coat and prepare for the cold-snap. If last season’s number is looking a bit rough round the edges, maybe it’s time to buy a new coat that will keep the bitter wind at bay! Here are five of the best of this year’s winter coats!

Gordon Smith Double Breasted Longline Jacket

This stylish coat comes in a bright and vibrant shade of peach and can brighten up those dark, winter mornings. It is double-breasted and features some very unusual tortoise-shell buttons. Both cuffs are belted and there are two ample-sized front pockets. Accessorize with a chunky knit scarf and hat for the colder days.

Nautica’s Traditional Quilted Jacket

This coat has thick padding throughout for the coldest days of winter. It features a zip-up front and has four pockets which are all fastened with stud-buttons. This is a coat that provides warmth without weighing the wearer down.

The Bergans Women’s Bergfrue Coat

This coat is made from 100% pure wool and will resist the harshest of winter winds. This coat is a must for anyone searching for a classic duffle coat with its navy woollen mix and large brown toggles. The elbow patches bring it up to date!

66 North Women’s Gjola Jacket

This is a coat that is designed for the very coldest days and is based on a classic Icelandic design. The coat offers a particularly feminine look and is made with an extremely durable and warm ribbed wool-blend. It features two large pockets at the front and a leather zip. This garment is a little longer than most jackets and includes a clever two-way zip and articulated elbows.

The North Face Women’s Brooklyn Jacket

North Face is one of the most respected names in the business and this coat demonstrates why. Outwardly, it resembles a parka; however, it comes with a number of exciting outdoor features that are designed to make outdoor life as bearable as possible during the winter months. The shell of this coat is made from a breathable material. Moisture is kept out while perspiration is allowed to pass out through the coat. The two-way zip with button-sealed flap is designed to keep any cold air out. Blacks supply this coat and many others like it. Their full selection can be found at www.millets.co.uk/category/clothing/women/jackets/waterproof.html or by visiting a local store.
