Victoria Beckham crowned “womenwear designer of the year” at WGSN awards
The WGSN Global Fashion Awards took place at London’s swanky Savoy Hotel on Monday night, and Victoria Beckham walked away with one of the biggest prizes – “womenswear designer of the year”.
“In just five years Victoria Beckham has gone from creating a handful of grandma dresses to building a truly modern and covetable luxury brand, defying cynics and winning over the critics in the process,” said a judge at the event. “This is her year.”
Victoria has already won her critics over by producing clean, gorgeous collections every season and having all of Tinsel Town lusting after her designs, but we agree with the judge – 2012 has definitely been a fantastic year for her!
Other big winners of the night included Topshop, who was awarded with the Womenswear Design Team prize, Charlotte Olympia walked away with the Footwear & Accessories designer award, while Kim Jones at Louis Vuitton received the Menswear designer accolade. Congratulations to everyone!
