Big congratulations to Mulberry this morning, as it walked away with the Best British Luxury Brand accolade at the 2012 Walpole awards, beating off stiff competition from the likes of Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney.

Mulberry wasn’t the only big winner of the night though, as Burberry also went home with the Best Luxury Brand Online award.

“This year’s Walpole award winners represent some of the most talented organisations from across the luxury industry and we are delighted to recognise their exceptional achievements,” said Julia Carrick, a spokesperson for Walpole.

And it’s not just fashion labels that were honoured at the ceremony held in London either – Team GB’s Katherine Grainger and Jonnie Peacock were the very worthy recipients of Medals of Excellence for making Britain proud during the Olympics this summer.

“It has been an extraordinary year for Britain and this year’s Olympic and Paralympics games was a demonstration of British talent at its very best,” Julia continued. “With this in mind, we are delighted to award two truly inspirational individuals, Katherine Grainger and Jonnie Peacock, with special Walpole Medals of Excellence in recognition of their outstanding sporting success.”

Here, here! Congrats to all the winners!
