Update: ASOS isn’t opening a store in America after all

Update: Earlier today, we got rather excited after hearing through the grapevine (and reading several reports) that ASOS would be opening its first ever real life store in New York at some point in the not-so-distant future. However, a rep for the brand has emailed us stating that there was a big old misunderstanding on the blogosphere, and the online retailer has in fact opened its first US corporate office – emphasis on the office - as opposed to an actual store. We thought it was too good to be true…

Either we have stepped into an alternate reality or this is actually true…

ASOS is opening its very first real life store in America! According to reports, the retailer will be literally setting up shop – all 3,325 square feet of it – at 142 Greene Street in Soho, New York. Seems very real when you have an official address doesn’t it? That trip to the good old US of A just became even more tempting!

There’s no official word on when the shop is due to open its doors, but we’ll keep you posted so you an a) be first in line to check it out and b) book those all-important plane tickets if necessary. An ocean isn’t going to keep us away from perusing everything ASOS has to offer in the flesh!

We’ve always wondered what it would be like to have a shop where we could see all the pieces before our very eyes to make the selection process just that little bit easier (or maybe it will actually be harder? Who knows!) and at some point in the not-too-distant future, we will wonder no more!
