The new season is upon us, which can only mean one thing – it’s time to revamp our wardrobes!

Even though we can only really wear one at a time, us girls can never have too many dresses in our wardrobes, which means it’s perfectly acceptable to stock up on the new arrivals as they land in stores before anyone else gets their hands on them. Here are five gorgeous transitional dresses to ease you into the new season:

1.– If you’re not ready to put your arms away (perhaps you’ve still got your summer tan) then this wool dress will still keep you warm. Victoria Beckham wool blend felt and checked wool mini dress, £1,590

2.– A fun flirty dress to wear with black tights and killer heels; abandon the tights when the weather warms up next year or if you’re heading to a swanky indoor party. Lover leopard print silk gauze dress, £480

3.– It’s going to be getting a lot darker a lot earlier (sob, sniff) so if you want a bit of a bright pick-me-up, we’d suggest looking no further than this stunning multi-colour dress. No chance of feeling the autumn/winter blues in this badboy! Peter Pilotto Isabel printed stretch crepe jersey dress, £495

4.– There’s never a bad time to invest in a DVF piece; come rain or shine the New York based designer always delivers with her figure-flattering mood-lifting creations and this autumnal printed dress is no exception. Diane Von Furstenberg New Jeanne python print silk jersey wrap dress, £320

5.– This Alice by Temperley piece contains everything we could ever ask for in a new-season dress. It comes in a great autumnal colour but enables us to cling onto the summer with its fun and flirty design. There’s no shortage of sex appeal either thanks to those sleeves! Alice by Temperley Mini Solitaire ponte and lace dress, £345
