Katy Perry may have been draped in hot-off-the-runway Julien Macdonald sequins for the Brits last week, but the girl does have an eye for a bargain too. Why else would she be teaming up with Claire’s to give her fans an affordable and accessible jewellery collection?
“When we survey our girls around the world, she’s the superstar that resonates globally,” said Claire’s CEO Jim Fielding. “Katy is designing a line of jewellery and accessories that she wanted to make for her fans. The overlap between her fans and the Claire’s customer is a great overlap.
“Katy is a very smart businesswoman and a great performer. She knows her brand very well. She has a definite aesthetic and point of view.”
Katy has signed on with Claire’s for two years for the rather aptly named Katy Perry Prism collection, which will be designed and curated by the gorgeous singer herself. We can reportedly expect everything from seasonal pieces, items inspired by KP’s music – whatever that means – and even a few limited edition bits and bobs too.
We have every faith that the collection will be a “roaring” success. Geddit?
