So, I get that imitation is the highest form of flattery, but I can’t imagine the people at Minnetonka Moccasin company being overly pleased with Jessica Simpson at the moment. Her beaded “Mocca” flat is a blatant rip-off of the classic Minnetonka “Thunderbird” moc, worn by many a celeb such as Kate Hudson, Courtney Cox, Julia Roberts and Drew Barrymore (Kate Moss is also a Minnetonka fan, although she favours their boots).

Like I said, I’m hunting for my perfect bag (clearly, I need help!). I’m looking at way more bags than I ever have in my life in such a short period of time, so I’m starting to notice certain trends. For example, many designers who haven’t previously chosen to do so are using large metal plates on their bags. Kate Spade has a rather overstated version that I’m not such a fan of, and then more successfully here although I still don’t like the bag.

While I love spring and the warm weather it brings, I haven’t managed to find the time to get a pedicure. By this, I mean that my toes are staying hidden in ballet flats until I get myself over to a salon! But just because my tootsies haven’t caught up to this season doesn’t mean the rest of me has fallen behind, which is why I was delighted to find these super cute French Sole “Season” flats.

The name, Dirty Librarian Chains, is completely hilarious and memorable; their designs are unforgettable too. Designer Susan Domelsmith started the line by creating pieces for herself from repurposed vintage jewelry, but boutiques soon began to take notice and she launched a full collection that is now recognized worldwide.
Some pieces exude simple elegance, like this “Recall” necklace, while others are an edgy tangle of chains and charms like this “Tracings” necklace.
My favourite is the “Call Number” necklace; it’s definitely a statement piece and a great way to add an edge to an otherwise simple outfit. View the full collection at Dirty Librarians. To purchase visit www.tobi.com.

I spend a lot of time browsing different fashion-related sites online, and I do mean a lot! Some of it is for research purposes, and other times it’s because I’m looking for a particular item or I want something pretty. In the latter instances, I’m turning more and more to shopjinny.com.

So as some of you may know, I’m on a bit of a bag hunt. Which means I have been staring at lots of them, and I do mean LOTS, during the few moments of free time I have. I’ve come up with two favourites so far, both by Rebecca Minkoff (to shoulder strap, or to satchel? conundrum!), but I also discovered a relative newcomer on the designer bag circuit. ‘Great’ by Sandie is a France-based line that uses ultra-soft leather that has been tumbled to give it a comfy vintage-boho look (and when I say soft, I mean buttery, creamy, creme-fraiche soft). I love the braided handle and simple pleat detail on the “Daisy“.

After an atrocious week at work made better only by how god-awful my weekend was, I needed something pretty, I needed it fast, and I needed it not to cost a ton of money (yeah right, this is Manhattan!).

I’ve been hunting for a pair of nice flat sandals and given my recent obsession with Barneys, I was browing their selection online when I found these shoes by Sigerson Morrison. All I have to say is that it’s a good thing that Barneys doesn’t deign to break down their shoe selection by category, because I’m not sure if these are boots or sandals. However, I am sure that I don’t like them.

So, I’m not totally sure what to think of these wedges from Roberto Cavalli … I am a big fan of wooden shoes and I love the contrast of the creamy pale leather (makes me think of safari, or someplace tropical and exotic).

When Gossip Girl first launched, Blake Lively launched to the front of fashion headlines, often ahead of co-star Leighton Meester.
However, Leighton has been stepping up her game lately and getting a lot more fashion attention. She looks lovely in lemon yellow at a recent event in Hollywood with costars Blake and Taylor Momsen (), and she ups the ante with some serious big-city style in this ensemble from Missoni.
