I’m not a huge fan of celebrity labels. That’s no secret and you can read my rant on the subject here but I promise I’m not being biased as I write my thoughts on Mischa Barton’s new line of handbags.
Last week while window shopping I spotted the collection and was about to walk straight past when I figured why not give it a chance. I wish I could say I was pleasantly suprised but I wasn’t.

We’ve been awaiting Luella’s arrival at Urban Outfitters like excited kids waiting for Santa Claus on Xmas eve, but were sorely disappointed to find a limited number of items on sale. What’s that about? So with not much choice to speak of we’re settling on this lumberjack check bomber jacket to keep us warm this autumn. Hopefully more items will be added to the site. We’re already hooked to Mulberry’s bags, and it looks like we’re going to be addicted to their footwear too. For AW08, the luxury brand have enlisted the help of British shoe designer, Jonathan Kelsey, to create their first line of shoes for women. The collection is quite small consisting of five different styles: the Riding boot, the Ankle Boot, the Cropped Bootie, the Platform Pump and the Men’s Shoe (a modern flat lace-up that’s already captured our hearts).

Just as Mila Jovovich confirmed the end of her clothing line with friend and designer Carmen Hawk, Erin Wasson has announced the start of her career in fashion design. A close friend of Alexander Wang, Erin has signed a three-year deal to design a collection for RVCA.

With celebrities determined to take over the fashion industry, survivial for any designer really is all about collaborations, collaborations and more collaborations. One designer who recognises this more than most is Giles Deacon. He’s designed a line of bags for Mulberry, created a blackberry case with Carphone Warehouse, collaborated with Tanqueray No. Ten gin to create a luxury martini case, designed a pair of Chuck Taylors for Converse (RED) and currently designs a regular collection for New Look.

Mr Blackwell, the fashion critic responsible for naming and shaming the worst dressed celebs around has been in a coma since Saturday after suffering from a bad fall at his home.
Although the 85yr old former designer and actor is said to be battling with a serious infection he has regained consciousness and is now moving his hands and blinking.
Blackwell is best known for his annual worst dressed lists which have been going strong for 48 years. Just last year he crowned Victoria Beckham with the number one spot.
