  • NY Fashion Week SS10: Day 8 Recap
With the end of Fashion Week fast approaching things have definitely calmed down inside the tents, so I was excited to see that there was a little PR stunt going on in front of the tents as I made my way in. In order to promote their new show, “Naughty Chef,” the Oxygen channel hired a slew of people to wear “Feed the Models” shirts and chant...

  • NY Fashion Week SS10: Day 7 Recap
I went to Catherine Malandrino’s presentation today which was held off-site in a gallery all the way on 22nd between 10th and 11th ave. The presentation took place from 1-2pm and when I got there, shortly after 1pm, the line to get in was already snaked around the block!

  • NY Fashion Week SS10: Day 6 Recap
The highlight of my day today was going backstage at J. Mendel. Love! The hair, the dresses, the nails, the makeup everything was utter perfection. Gilles Mendel seemed so cool and composed and he was looking wonderfully dapper (even though as far as I could tell he wasn’t wearing socks with his leather shoes!).

  • NY Fashion Week SS10: Day 5 Recap
After the craziness surrounding the Christian Siriano, Chado Ralph Rucci, and Vivienne Tam shows (literally mobs of people were in the tents pushing and shoving trying to get in), the QVC event was a wonderful relief! It started at 9pm after the Tam show, the last of the night, and the music was pumping, the drinks were flowing, and there was some serious excitement...

  • NY Fashion Week SS10: Day 4 Recap
I’ve been so busy these last few days it was nice to get out last night for some fun parties. I hit the town with my friend Christine who is visiting from Paris (she moved from NYC to attend perfumery school, so we had plenty to catch up on!). Our first stop was the Generra boutique opening in the MPD (823 Washington Street). Very cute boutique in an AMAZING location....

  • Dries Van Noten at FIT
Following his acceptance of the 2009 Couture Council Award for Artistry of Fashion, Dries Van Noten joined Valerie Steele, director of The Museum at FIT, for an intimate question-and-answer session with students at the Fashion Institute of Technology. I have never seen an interview with the Belgian designer so I eagerly made my way to FIT’s Kate Murphy Amphitheater...

  • NY Fashion Week SS10: Day 3 Recap
Day three was a rainy day so I kept it in the tents with Yigal Azrouel, Twinkle by Wenlan, Charlotte Ronson, and Monarchy. I was hoping to spot Katie Lee Joel at the Yigal show (that would be too good and juicy to be true I suppose!), but alas she was a no-show. The ethereal collection with its expertly draped tops and jackets, sexy loose boyfriend blazers, and “harness”...

  • NY Fashion Week SS10: Day 2 Recap
It was a morning of tough decisions on Thursday the 10th — the first official day of NY FW — do I go to the BCBG show at the tents or to the Dries Van Noten Q + A at FIT? While BCBG has long been one of my favorite shows to attend (and is always packed to the brim with celebs), I decided to opt for the latter — after all how many times do you get to...

  • NY Fashion Week SS10: Day 1 Recap
The Spring/Summer New York Fashion Week shows are always a bit like going back to school after summer break. You’ve been taking it easy and basking in the sun when suddenly – with a mix of excitement and anxiety – you are faced with an overwhelmingly busy schedule! While today may have been the first official day of New York Fashion Week, the festivities really...

  • Review: The September Issue
It’s hard to imagine a film that could top the A-list fashion insider appearances in The September Issue. The film, which chronicles the nine months leading up to the printing of Vogue’s September issues, boasts appearances from Thakoon, Karl Lagerfeld, Stefano Pilati, Isabel Toledo, Bee Shaffer, Linda Fargo, Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta, Mario Testino, Coco Rocha,...
