  • London Fashion Week SS10: Maria Francesca Pepe
Today I fell in love all over again. Maria Francesca Pepe’s S/S 10 presentation, which began with screening of her film Bathing Beauties for the collection, couldn’t have started any better. The dreamy footage showcasing her designs – modelled by Portia Freeman, among others – was completely enchanting as we watched the Bathing Beauties pose by topaz...

  • London Fashion Week SS10: Aminaka Wilmont
Tight, tight and super tight. Aminaka Wilmont went beyond body con and created a whole new level of cling. Yes there was Lycra, yet the cuts were short and tight but no it wasn’t slutty, instead it was beautiful and feminine. In a collection inspired by dancers and industrial spaces, soft colour palettes were set against laser cut pieces and their trademark prints....

  • London Fashion Week SS10: Bora Aksu
This collection was inspired by the Oscar Wilde story ‘The Happy Prince’ and like the story I loved it. I agree that Bora Aksu is not for everyone, his designs are whimsical, incredibly girly and at times a little over the top. But this collection was more grown up, paired back and far more wearable, yet will still please Bora fans.

  • London Fashion Week SS10: Maria Grachvogel
Think elegance, think sophistication, think class. They were the overruling themes at Maria Grachvogel’s Spring/Summer presentation. Held on Sloane Street yesterday, the collection was a far cry from the hot pants and corset dresses seen at her 2000 show, which featured guest model, Victoria Beckham. Grachvogel took us back to uptown 1964 with this wonderfully...

  • London Fashion Week SS10: Ashley Isham
So lucky me managed to grab a front row seat at the Ashley Isham show today. The dress designer, who has showed at London Fashion Week nine times, put on a lively show with music from Kasabian and Florence and the Machine. It was clearly a show of two halves – for me, at least; the first was rather vivid, full of bold exotic prints, bright colours and jewels galore,...

  • NY Fashion Week SS10: Day 8 Recap
With the end of Fashion Week fast approaching things have definitely calmed down inside the tents, so I was excited to see that there was a little PR stunt going on in front of the tents as I made my way in. In order to promote their new show, “Naughty Chef,” the Oxygen channel hired a slew of people to wear “Feed the Models” shirts and chant...

  • NY Fashion Week SS10: Day 7 Recap
I went to Catherine Malandrino’s presentation today which was held off-site in a gallery all the way on 22nd between 10th and 11th ave. The presentation took place from 1-2pm and when I got there, shortly after 1pm, the line to get in was already snaked around the block!

  • Victoria Beckham’s latest collection
Yesterday saw Victoria Beckham unveil her third collection at New York Fashion Week. While it may seem that the Popstar-turned-Wag-turned-designer did not take any risks with her latest collection, Beckham has released a range which does boast all the stand-out elements of her previous collections, while adapting them for a fresher, S/S10 look. And why should...

  • NY Fashion Week SS10: Day 6 Recap
The highlight of my day today was going backstage at J. Mendel. Love! The hair, the dresses, the nails, the makeup everything was utter perfection. Gilles Mendel seemed so cool and composed and he was looking wonderfully dapper (even though as far as I could tell he wasn’t wearing socks with his leather shoes!).

  • NY Fashion Week SS10: Day 5 Recap
After the craziness surrounding the Christian Siriano, Chado Ralph Rucci, and Vivienne Tam shows (literally mobs of people were in the tents pushing and shoving trying to get in), the QVC event was a wonderful relief! It started at 9pm after the Tam show, the last of the night, and the music was pumping, the drinks were flowing, and there was some serious excitement...
