We were very excited to learn that Vivienne Westwood had collaborated with Brazilian shoe designer Melissa once again, creating a range of heels and pumps for fall 2009. Being plastic and all, Melissa’s eco-friendly creations (the shoes are produced from recycled materials) are perfect for those rainy days, ensuring that you needn’t worry about ruining your favourite pair of pumps in unavoidable puddles! Ah, there lies the beauty of wipe-clean shoes.

The collaboration is a favourite among the likes of Anne Hathaway, Alicia Silverstone and Nicola Roberts. Whoever thought rubber footwear would be so popular? These Three Strap Shoes have a four inch heel and are available in black, red, purple and petrol blue. £110 available from Browns.

Last spring, Zandra Rhodes designed a hugely successful range for Marks and Spencer and this Thursday, the high street favourite is set to launch their second collaboration.

Rhodes said of the partnership: ‘Marks & Spencer did such a wonderful range for me last season that I could not wait to do the next one. I am thrilled to see my prints in singing jewel colours for everyone to look beautiful for the Christmas and party season.’

This time around, iconic prints have been applied to 70s inspired silhouettes - including this deep purple jumpsuit, with graphic rose detail. It’s no secret that My Fashion life has a bit of a thing for sequins. Luckily for us then, that the party trend is making no signs of departing! Last year we were all about the party frocks. And now? We’re loving the elegant, autumnal cover ups, which can instantly update any outfit.

Our favourite sparkly look for this season has to be this beautifully structured, sequined jacket from DKNY. The georgette jacket of silk and sequins is the perfect day to night cover up.

Here at My Fashion Life, we’ve decided that November is the acceptable month to start getting excited about Christmas and therefore, the sparkly partywear that will start to filter through our favourite high street stores over the coming months. Marks and Spencer were quick off the mark when they hosted their partywear press day in October, showing us all the delightful and fashionably festive things that we have to look forward to.

Decked out in Christmas Trees and crackers, the room was awash with sparkle, with sections dedicated to each of M&S’s clothing ranges. Autograph and Limited Collection were the most impressive brands, boasting an extensive selection of evening dresses and elegant accessories as well as cosy winter knits for daytime.

Among an enviable array of sequinned pieces, the stand out dresses were these velvet numbers: very fall 2009! The short, grey shift from Limited Collection was styled to textured perfection with a dash of faux fur and long, black beads. At £45, this simple and versatile dress is a worthwhile investment if you’re a fan of this seasonal trend.

Treating us to champers and delicious nibbles (including those mouth-watering brie and cranberry parcels), M&S did everything to get us into the Christmas spirit, even offering us a rummage through Santa’s present sacks to pick some gorgeous Marks and Spencer’s treats to take home with us. I think all that was missing was Santa Claus himself!

As well as showcasing their latest finery and feeding us up on miniature cheeseburgers, the high street favourite used the day as a platform to announce their new sleepwear collection Eco-B by Eco-Boudoir, the luxury lingerie designer. The ten-piece collection is produced in the store’s first carbon neutral lingerie factory in Sri Lanka, using sustainable fabrics and dyes.

Jenny White, Founder of Eco-Boudoir said: ‘we are delighted to be collaborating with M&S on this nature inspired collection as they are leading the high street in sustainable fashion and really striving to make a difference. With this collaboration it is our mission to make sustainability sexy.’

The range will be available from the end of November, exclusively in the Marble Arch M&S and online. Prices will range from £25 - £90 in sizes 8-16.

The simplicity of the structure of the bag is what makes it look so stylish, and it is so far away from what a laptop bag is perceived to look like, that the burden of carrying a laptop is longer there. The bags come in a combination of colours; black and raspberry interior, white and pistachio interior, Gold Python and Natural Snake. Penelope & Parker (www.penelopeandparker.com) have produced a collection of laptop bags that will have any girl go weak at the knees. There are styles and colours for all, but my particular favourite was this neutral coloured laptop bag. The bag includes a removable laptop sleeve with faux fur lining, a removable carry pouch for laptop cables and a zipped storage section for any other extras. I have saved the best ‘til last. We love a winter trend that helps to keep out the bitter cold at the same time as looking uber stylish, which is why we will be investing in at least one snood this season. No this isn’t Snood, the addictive puzzle game, but a snood: the scarf-come-hood that goes on over the head and around the neck like a scarf that won’t flap away in the wind. How practical.

Having been seen on the fall catwalks at Burberry (rabbit fur) and Missoni (cosy knits), the snood is now making a massive comeback, keeping that 80’s look fresh for a more luxurious 2009.

Wear as a scarf, or protect your hair by raising the fabric over the back of your head like a hood - either way, the snood will make sure you’re bang on trend and will definitely keep that winter chill out!
