We were more than a tad excited when we reported news recently of a collaboration between Mulberry and Apple, so imagine how we felt when we were invited to the British brand’s Bond street store last night for the launch party.

The luxury label has joined forces with technology trend-setters Apple to create a collection of stylish laptop bags and accessories especially designed for Apple’s best sellers, including the iPhone, iPod, MacBook and MacBook Pro.

The nine piece collection was on show for all to see as we mingled with famous faces – including models Poppy Delvigne, Tallulah Adeyemi, Olivia Inge and Leah Weller; actress Natalie Press; TV presenters Miquita Oliver and Jameela Jamil; stylist to the stars James Brown; designer Henry Holland; comedy duo James Corden and Matthew Horne; and head of the British Fashion Council Harold Tilman – sipped on apple cocktails and scoffed mini hotdogs.

But back to the bags, because that’s why we were all there. Mulberry’s signature style hasn’t
shifted a key, as the collection sees classic pieces from the British brand adapted to accommodate Apple’s technology – from padded interiors to holes and eyelets for ear phones – each and every one as sleek and stylish as we’ve come to expect from the luxury label. Smaller pieces ready for iPhone’s and iPods came in pink, leopard, silver, black and white, but our favourite has to be the classic patent black Bayswater (though the oversized Daria clutch features pretty high up on our wish list, too).

If we were ever going to need confirmation that this collaboration could be a match made it heaven, we certainly got it last night.

She’s been a favourite of luxury lingerie label Victoria’s Secret for a while now, but finally, British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has been made an official Victoria’s Secret Angel.

Following in the footsteps of Gisele Bundchen, Tyra Banks and Heidi Klum – who will be back on the Victoria’s Secret catwalk to presenting its annual fashion show next Thursday – Rosie joins Chanel Iman, Candice Swanepoel, Emanuela DiPaula and Lindsay Ellingson in this years Angel intake as the only British Angel.

“I’m very happy and proud to have been flying the flag for Britain at Victoria’s Secret for nearly four years now,” Rosie – who scooped best model at this year’s Elle Style awards – told Vogue UK.

The Angel wings have shot models to a new level of success in the past, so we’re expecting Rosie to be flying high for a while.

Forget knights in shining armour, the daughter-in-law of billionaire steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal has won the bid for Escada for an undisclosed sum.

We reported earlier in the week that a bidding battle had broken out for the falling fashion house, and that Sven Ley, son of Escada founder Wolfgang Ley, had confirmed a bid to bring Escada back from the deep.

But Ley and co. were outbid by the shrewd 33-year-old Megha Mittal, who has been looking to invest in the fashion industry for the last year and had previously shown an interest in Gianfranco Ferre.

Escada’s management and the new owner “have agreed to cooperate on the basis of the business strategy launched in mid-2008 securing continuity of the operative business,” fashionologie reports.

Mittal will apparently support Escada CEO Bruno Saelzer in bringing Escada away from its eveningwear legacy of the past to a more accessible ready-to-wear collection.

Good news, at last! We’re looking forward to Escada’s future offerings.

After rumours circulated this week as to whether Georgia May Jagger will model for Versace, it’s just been confirmed that the young model will be the face of the Italian fashion house’s S/S10 campaign.

The 17-year-old daughter of rock legend Mick Jagger and world-renowned model Jerry Hall will replace Gisele Bundchen – who can currently be seen in Versace adverts alongside Paul Sculfor – as the face of the luxury label.

Georgia May, who bears a resounding resemblance to her famous folks, is currently the face of Hudson Jeans and Rimmel London. Modelling for Versace must run in the family – her mum, Jerry Hall, also modelled for the Italian fashion house more than 20 years ago.

“We are delighted that Georgia is following in the footsteps of her mother, who did Versace with Avedon,” Georgia’s agent told Grazia this morning saying. “She was thrilled to be working with Donatella and Mario and to be bringing it through to a new generation.”

And she’s only 17? We said this girl would be one to watch.

David Koma’s been the talk of the town this week after Cheryl Cole debuted his designs on Saturday night’s X Factor, and now tongues are set to wag even more: Beyonce has been spotted wearing the same dress.

At last night’s MTV Europe Music Awards in Berlin, Beyonce wore a David Koma number which was remarkably similar to the one Ms. Cole was wearing last week, featuring the new designer’s signature metal piping snaking around the bodice.

The reaction was a bit of a mixed bag – apparently a few comments were made after the show that it looked like rubbish bin lids, and others said the piping looked like hubcaps, the Daily Mail reported.

Our verdict? Sorry Cheryl, we think the dress looks better on Beyonce, what with the the fierce armoured Thierry Mugler designs she wore for her latest tour and all.

David Koma must be pretty excited with all the recent buzz over his designs – the Georgian-born designer has only just graduated from London’s legendary Central Saint Martin’s – and with Cheryl and Beyonce both supporting the young talent, we’re predicting a bright future ahead.

Get a load of this: it’s just been announced that fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi is set to host his own show on QVC called Isaac Mizrahi LIVE, which, coincidently is the name of his new range that he will be selling.

The outlandish designer will premiere his new collection, which ranges from handbags to cheesecakes, and, er, even kettles, on 4th December.

Apparently the show will step away from the conventions of traditional shopping channels, as Isaac Mizrahi LIVE gives us an insight into the weird and wacky lifestyle of Mizrahi himself, with a little bit of pitching thrown in for good measure, of course. Well, he’s already taught us how to have style.

The Brooklyn born designer is involved in his products from start to finish and has made it clear he doesn’t want to be only known as Isaac Mizrahi the ‘fashion designer’.

He told WWD, “I love my product. I believe in my product. If I do plates, if I do bedding, which I did, if I render cookies, I do it in the same way that I think about a couture dress.”

Hmm, cookies and couture…has someone been nosing in on our dreams?
