We all know how difficult it is to stay ahead of the trends or be adorned in the latest must-haves without breaking the bank. Of course that Peter Pilotto coat is on our wish list as are those Balenciaga boots but trust me, you don’t need them. I’ve put together a high street wisrokh list to ensure you’ll be wearing those key trends next winter without having to remortgage your house or sell the whole contents of yours (and your mums’) wardrobe. You’re welcome.

Trend number one – high-shine leather

All the designers are doing it! Jonathan Saunders, Richard Nicoll and even Roksanda Ilincic. Glossy items are most definitely going to hail next winter but don’t worry, if you’re more of a simple kind of girl, there are ways to incorporate this trend with subtlety. No honestly there are! Instead of statement outerwear pieces, why not try a high-shine tee or cropped top in a nude colour, which is also going to be big next season. And if that even sounds scary, stay true to your style and at least ensure you bring out those leather look skinnies you have lying around your wardrobe already. So let me show you the easiest and simplest way to incorporate this look into your wardrobe.

These are a few of my top buys:

Trend number two – Monochrome

This is probably one of the easiest trends to adapt, as let’s face it, all girls have black and white lying around in their wardrobes in some shape or form. Right? Right. But what’s the newest point to take away from the catwalks is to wear head-to-toe monochrome and incorporate bold prints in there too. I predict that this will be one of the most popular ones to filter through to high street and next winter the cities will look like a throwback to the 60s! Such fun. Again, here are a few of my favourite buys:

Trend number three – backpacks, baseball caps and fur scarves worn by everywhere from the catwalks to the streets! SpiritHoods provide fur scarves with a difference, with a unique take on animal hats you can be sure to model yourself on your favourite furry animal. For the extra dash of colour try contact lenses from Vision Direct, where you can pick up some fantastic cosmetic sets to brighten up that look and feel even more in tune with your SpiritHood.
