Top 5 Ways to Wear a Chanel Bag According to Celebrities

Chanel handbags are classic, stylish accessories that will never go out of style. Every girl wants to own one of these investment pieces, and the Chanel Classic Flap Bag is well-known in its own right. The key concern is how we will style them. A Chanel bag is more than an accessory; it’s a true designer piece that only requires a blank canvas to shine.  Are you planning a night out with your girls? A denim mini skirt with a white blouse will brighten up your legs; Put on some lovely shoes and hold your Chanel bag. A refined, uncomplicated look that is easy to imitate. It’s simple to put together winter outfits with Chanel purses. Most of their purses have fairly long chain straps. As a result, you can wear them over jackets and puffy winter coats with ease. Leather leggings and sweaters work great with this bag. The jacket’s biker design and shearling detailing are the perfect complements to the bag. Because Chanel bags are so popular and in such high demand, counterfeiters take advantage of the opportunity to create and sell more online, frequently without alerting their customers that they are buying knockoffs. She also flaunted her fashion credentials with her off-white Chanel handbag over her shoulder. This is an excellent illustration of how […]

Keira Knightley Is Stunning In Chanel Couture At The Aftermath Premiere

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve featured Keira Knightley in a celeb style feature. So, it’s with our pleasure that we present the actress in vintage Chanel couture. Sticking with her favourite go-to-designer for the red carpet, the actress looked absolutely gorgeous yesterday evening, at the Picturehouse Central in London for the premiere of her new movie, The Aftermath. Wearing a black tiered tulle gown with peplum sleeves, and metallic beaded embellishment along the waist, the mum-of-one elevated her look with smoky eyes and pink lippy. Jewellery was kept to a minimum while Keira let her hair down in loose waves with one side pinned up with a silver hair pin. We love her look. Yes, it’s her usual aesthetic, but if it’s not broke…. Cardi B Pays Homage To Linda Evangelista’s 1995 Chanel Look

Cardi B is currently riding the wave of success and she’s doing it in style too. Recently announcing her pregnancy on Saturday Night Live while promoting her new album Invasion of Privacy, the rapper continued marketing activities on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, paying homage to none other than Linda Evangelista in the process. Spotted by Diet Prada on Instagram, Cardi B performed her latest song “Money Bag” in a nearly identical outfit to a look worn by the supermodel in 1995 for Harper’s Bazaar. However, while Linda wore Chanel, the mother-to-be took to the stage in a Larel DeWitt custom leather bodysuit with gold accessories. Cardi’s tribute can be credited to stylist Kollin Carter whom explained that, “we wanted to show that being a woman that is carrying doesn’t strip you of your sexiness”. Thoughts?

From Chanel to Dior – why Paris is still the heart of fashion

When you think of Paris, fashion is always the first word that pops into your head. The City of Culture is known throughout the world for its high number of artists and designer residents, from painters selling their work on the streets in Montmatre, to the designers working for the world’s most prestigious fashion houses. Paris’ vibrant creative scene is the reason so many tourists flock to the city every year, to live out their dreams of renting a little studio in the Latin quarter and spending their days walking along the Seine, or sitting outside coffee shops watching the world’s most stylish residents walk by, now being made available to tourists through Housetrip for short tourism trips. The city has been the centre of the fashion industry since the reign of Louis XIV. The King was very enthusiastic about fashion and encouraged everyone at Versailles to follow suite. He demanded certain types of dress for certain events and started the first Parisian guild of seamstresses, made up of women endorsed by his highness to make clothes. In modern times, famous Parisians like Coco Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Dior revolutionised the fashion industries of their eras. Coco Chanel influenced the way women dressed all over the world with her effortless and elegant clothes in the early 1920s, while Christian Dior invented the New Look after the war. In the 1960s, Yves Saint Laurent modernised the stuffy world of couture with his daring Le Smoking tuxedos for women. It’s a testimony to all three designers that their names live on as three of the biggest fashion houses in production today. Not only are their labels still around, but they are as desirable as ever. The fashion world still takes its lead from Paris. London, Milan and New York might […]

Karl Lagerfeld taps Pharrell Williams for Chanel mini movie!

Looks like Pharrell Williams and Cara Delevingne can’t get enough of each other at the moment. As well as working on a rumoured music single together, Pharrell has also been tapped by the Kaiser himself, Karl Lagerfeld, to appear in a Chanel mini movie alongside Cara Delevingne and super adorable six-year-old Hudson Kroenig. Phew. And although it was initially thought that Pharrell and Cara were shooting the music video to their super-secret single in Paris a few days ago, it was in actual fact part of the Chanel mini movie. Kind of confusing but we hope we’ve cleared it up. The movie is reportedly part of the forthcoming Chanel pre-fall show on December 2nd. That’s the day after the British Fashion Awards, FYI. “Everyone was kind of shy and didn’t want to go out there yelling and screaming” – Gigi Hadid on THAT Chanel protest

The staged protest that took place during the Chanel spring/summer 2015 show at Paris Fashion Week was to powerful that we think it will stay in our memories forever – but apparently it took a lot of work to get it to that stage. Gigi Hadid, one of the models who took part, explained that she found it quite challenging at first… “Honestly it was such a surreal experience, it felt kind of out-of-body,” the model said. “The crew said, ‘Yes, it’s a fake protest, but you need to go into this realising that you’re on the world stage. Everyone talks about the Chanel show, everyone is going to see it and we’re really setting a protest for you guys – for what Karl sees in all of the amazing women that he works with.’ That really inspired me. “Everyone was kind of shy and didn’t want to go out there yelling and screaming. We had to do a four-hour rehearsal because no one would actually yell, but once they gave us the pep talk, we were all so into it.” We would never have guessed that Gigi and the rest of the girls were nervous about it judging by what we saw on the catwalk. Good work, everyone! [Vogue]

WATCH Gisele’s Chanel No 5 ad in full!

It’s here! The highly anticipated Gisele Bundchen for Chanel No 5 ad campaign video is finally here – and boy was it worth the wait! We told you a few months ago that the Brazilian supermodel would be the new face of the iconic fragrance, and apart from a cheeky teaser pic of her in surf gear that was released last week, details of the campaign have been kept pretty hush hush. Until now, of course. Akin to the memorable Chanel No 5 ad featuring Nicole Kidman, this ad was shot by director Baz Luhrmann – and is everything we ever dreamed it would be. Maybe even that little bit more. Lo-Fang’s rendition of You’re the One That I Want plays in the background, while Gisele goes about her day which consists of spending time with her child, jet-setting around the world, posing for the French fashion House in question, going for a quick surf, and of course, falling in love with Game of Thrones hunk Michiel Huisman. As you do. The more we watch the video – and yes, we have watched it more than once – the more perfect we think the casting has been. And we aren’t the only ones to think so… It’s amazing how she can use her body and convey sensuality or strength,” Baz Luhrmann said. “Gisele’s an aspirational image of a woman who’s perhaps almost impossible to be. You aspire to her, that’s the idea. Gisele herself from my experience is extremely down to earth, very funny, very forthright, very intelligent and a very forward moving, powerful woman.” Very fitting words, indeed. Waste no more time and hit that play button below… enjoy!

Sneak peek at Gisele for Chanel No.5

We told you a few months ago that one of the most iconic supermodels of our time would be posing for one of the most iconic fragrances in the world – a match made in heaven – and now we have a very sneaky peek of Gisele Bundchen for Chanel No.5 to share with you. How exciting! The Brazilian beauty treated her fans to a pic of her on the set of the ad campaign as she posted it to her Instagram account with the caption, “So excited to introduce a behind the scene picture of my next campaign for @chanelofficial. #chaneln5 #theonethatiwant”. Hawk-eyed readers may have noticed that the surfboard Gisele is carrying isn’t your ordinary surfboard, oh no. It is in actual fact Chanel’s very own surfboard – the very same one that Beyonce posed with for CR Fashion Book. It was going to take someone special to upstage Brad Pitt’s ad, but we think Gisele in surfer gear with beach waves in hair may very well do the trick. We can’t wait to see the ad campaign in full – we predict it’s going to be spectacular!

Karl Lagerfeld is taking Chanel to Salzburg!

And the next venue for the highly anticipated Chanel Métiers d’Art show is, drumroll please… Salzburg, Austria! We have high expectations for the French fashion House’s collection after the previous offering in Dallas, Texas blew everyone away – especially as we know that Kaiser Karl likes to outdo himself with each and every show he stages. The show will take place in December at the 18th century baroque palace, the Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron. It is one of the country’s most glorious and treasured venues (once confiscated by the Nazis during World War II) and we can’t wait to see what Karl and the Chanel gang do with it. We think it’ll be the perfect way to end the year. And who knows, Karl may tease us with some little sneak peeks or make a special announcement (last season he announced that Kristen Stewart would be the face of the new collection before it hit the runway) prior to the show to whet our appetites. Keep your eyes peeled! [Style]

SS15 highlights from Chanel, Valentino, Louis Vuitton and more

Feminism is without a doubt, the word of the month. First we had Emma Watson’s moving UN speech where she announced the launch of her HeForShe initiative, and now Karl Lagerfeld presents an equal rights protest for the Chanel spring/summer 2015 collection for Paris Fashion Week. Some of the hottest and most in-demand models such as Cara Delevingne, Kendall Jenner, Gisele Bundchen, Joan Smalls and Georgia May Jagger, among many others, joined the Chanel Revolution and held up signs with powerful messages on the catwalk – all while dressed in the finest and newest Chanel attire, of course! Elsewhere in Paris, Valentino presented a typically beautiful collection which was inspired by Italy through the eyes of a traveller. Meanwhile, Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton was influenced by all things Japanese for her latest catwalk outing, sending her models out in erotic and exotic garments with sharp shoulders, bold hand-cut floral detailing, and more oversized floral print than you can shake a stick at. And finally, Louis Vuitton ended Fashion Month with a stunning show presented by Nicolas Ghesquière, with the soundtrack from Close Encounters of the Third Kind playing as the lucky guests took their seats. We saw an abundance of lust-worthy leather goods and accessories – no surprises there – make their debut, and although Nicolas Ghesquière took a lot of risks by introducing new ideas, the aesthetic of the iconic French fashion House remained the same. Check out all of our highlights from the latest Paris Fashion Week shenanigans right here: Chanel Louis Vuitton Alexander McQueen Valentino

Chanel has a brand new home in London!

Looks like Paris isn’t the only place to flock to if you want fine Parisian threads and accessories, as Chanel has opened a brand new store at the swanky Burlington Arcade in London’s Mayfair. The French fashion House has not only opened a very classy accessories boutique in one of London’s most fashionable areas, but it’s also signed long-term leases in the arcade for  lingerie and swimwear label Eres, milliner Maison Michel, watchmakers Bell & Ross and the knit label Barrie. “Our goal is to provide the highest-quality tenants,” said Melissa Gliatta, a spokesperson for the Burlington Arcade. “No matter who you are when you walk through the arcade there’s something for you, and I think that’s important to us to make sure we have a nice mix.” We couldn’t agree more. North West makes her modelling debut in head to toe Chanel

Little North West is only 13 months old, but has probably worn more designer threads than we will in our lifetime. Depressing, but probably true! Her latest designer ensemble comes courtesy of Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel, although she isn’t wearing it while on a stroll with her mummy Kim Kardashian or at home crawling or licking things she isn’t supposed to like most 13 month olds, oh no. She’s wearing head to toe Chanel for her first solo photoshoot for Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book. 13 months and already a solo fashion spread to her name – that has to be some sort of record even for Hollywood, right? Gorgeous little North West – or Nori as her parents like to call her – is wearing a stunning Chanel knitted cardigan that we really hope comes in bigger sizes too, and is posing alongside a covetable quilted 5.22 Chanel handbag with the Karl Lagerfeld quote “it’s never too early to care about fashion” at the top of the page. She was shot by Michael Avedon for the Legends feature which “celebrates the unconventional side of fashion icon status.” Love or hate the Kardashian klan, there’s no denying that North West is one seriously adorable baby who seems to have inherited her mother’s love of the camera. And by the looks of it, the camera loves her too! What do you think of North West’s modelling debut?

Cara Delevingne poses in a boxing ring for Chanel autumn/winter 2014 ad campaign

Despite being noticeably absent from the Chanel Couture show in Paris last week, Cara Delevingne is the main star of the French fashion House’s autumn/winter 2014 ad campaign. And the tomboy at heart model couldn’t look more chic, elegant and ladylike if she tried. The pic above might just be out favourite Cara Delevingne ad campaign pic of the season so far; it’s going to take a lot to top it! Although the autumn/winter 2014 runway show took place in a “supermarket”, it doesn’t look like Karl Lagerfeld and the Chanel team have continued with that theme, as they have favoured the setting of a boxing ring instead. Interesting… but the Chanel clothes and Cara D certainly make it work! We don’t think we’re going to take up boxing any time soon though, as we don’t think classic pearl-embellished Chanel sweaters are part of the recommended sporting attire. If that changes in the near future, we might have to reconsider…

Zooey Deschanel’s fans aren’t happy with her InStyle US August cover

You’d think fans of a singer or actress would be thrilled to see their idol’s face splashed on the front of a magazine cover; but not Zooey Deschanel’s fans. The main issue isn’t with the New Girl actress being on the InStlye US August 2014 cover, it’s actually to do with how much she has been Photoshopped. Perez Hilton writes that she bears an uncanny resemblance to Oscar-winning actor and 30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto, and we can’t help but agree with him. The 34-year-old actress teased her fans with a picture of the cover on her Instagram account, which prompted them to react in the way that they have. @amandaframpton: “Poor Zooey! This photoshop BS is out of control. You guys should be ashamed.” @bernadette_schendina: “OMG you’re kidding — she do not even look a bit like zooey !!!” We think it’s sweet how her fans are defending her natural beauty and aren’t fooled by all the work she’s received in post production. Where do you guys stand? Is the image as bad as people are making out? The InStyle US August issue hits newsstands on July 11th in case you want to snap it up in the hope that the rest of the pictures are less Photoshopped, and of course to read her accompanying interview which we bet is going to be as candid and humorous as ever!

Gisele is the new face of Chanel No.5

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West aren’t the only ones we need to say congratulations to this morning – Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen also deserves a hearty congrats too, as it’s just been announced that she is the new face of the iconic and timeless fragrance Chanel No.5. Gisele will be working with Baz Luhrmann for the ad campaign, so we’re pretty excited to see what the pair come out with. The last time the Great Gatsby director worked on a Chanel No.5 advert was with Nicole Kidman back in 2004 (exactly 10 years ago – doesn’t that make you feel old?), and we all know how incredible that ad was! Akin to Nicole, we expect to see Gisele rocking some of the finest Chanel creations for her video and print campaigns and since there’s no shortage of intricate Chanel piece to choose from, we are confident she’s going to blow us away. The ad is slated for release later this year so watch this space!  [Grazia]

Blake Lively, Chanel and a Cannes Film Festival red carpet = perfection!

Yep, we’re writing about Blake Lively at the Cannes Film Festival for the second day in a row. We don’t think anyone will blame us though, as we just fell off our office swivel chairs when we first clapped eyes on her latest look. Although Blake Lively is the face of Gucci Premiere and has looked sensational in its dresses this month, she decided to go for a different designer for her latest Cannes appearance. And the only designer to substitute Gucci for has to be Chanel, right? Blake Lively literally sparkled on the Mr Turner premiere red carpet in a bedazzling Chanel Couture dress that is pretty much what all sartorial dreams are made of. She teamed it with Sophia Webster heels, an abundance of exquisite Lorraine Schwartz jewellery, and her signature effortless beach waves (which we learnt are a lot lower maintenance than we thought). And how much do you love the pocket detailing on that dress? We need a moment to process how one woman can look so perfect; please excuse us…

Chanel’s Cruise collection hits Dubai – pics and deets here!

Just like we told you a few months ago, Chanel’s latest Cruise collection headed to Dubai yesterday, and as a result, so did the A list celebs, models and lucky members of the press. And as you can expect from such a rich and luxurious location, it was a no expense spared ultra-lavish affair. “I’ve only been in Dubai 24 hours, so I’m not exactly an expert,” Tilda Swinton, one of the many celebs in attendance, said about the show. “For me it was all my fantasies about 70s Dubai. A bit Marisa Berenson and 101 Arabian nights. It was a child’s eye view – but Karl’s always grazing in a fantasy world… I’m now stuck in the sand.” We think that’s a pretty spot-on account of the entire collection; kudos Tilda! One of our highlights was Karl Lagerfeld’s petroleum bag which is pretty much exactly what it sounds like – a gold Chanel bag in the shape of a petrol can. A not so subtle reference to the huge role Dubai plays in the oil industry, obviously. (Keen Chanel followers will remember that Kaiser Karl also debuted the milk carton bag back on the autumn/winter 2014 runway!) Elaborate detailing was found on the majority of the exquisite garments – there’s no such thing as “too much” for the wealthy residents of Dubai who will inevitably be snapping up the collection as soon as it lands (maybe even before!) and it’s clear to see that KK ensured the collection reflected that. Major props to the hair and make-up department too, as they once again outdid themselves with the bold and dramatic model looks! We need voluminous hair and we need it now! Zooey Deschanel vs. Taylor Swift…Who wore Tommy Hilfiger better?

A frock-off between two ladies who know their way around a good dress is no small task, and this week, looking equally fantastic in the same dress, are Zooey Deschanel and Taylor Swift. Wearing a polka dot-print dress from Zooey’s 16-piece capsule collection for Tommy Hilfiger, both Taylor and the lady designer herself put their personal spin on the dress – ultimately making our task of choosing the best look even tougher! Back in April, Zooey attended the ‘To Tommy, From Zooey’ launch at Macy’s in New York and, naturally, she was modelling her collection. The New Girl star completed her look with sheer tights, pointed pumps and her signature bangs. A slick of white polish on the nails and liner-rimmed eyes rounded off the look. Second in line to sport the dress was Taylor Swift, who was spotted leaving the gym in New York looking her usual, prim-and-proper self. Pairing the dress with a bow-detail belt, lady-like bag and Mary Janes, Taylor continued the accessory party with Ray Ban wayfarers and a headband. A slick of coral on the lips added an uplifting dash of colour. So, who wins? Although we’d love to say the designer stole the show, ‘twas sadly not the case this time. We’re totally diggin’ Taylor’s effort to up the prettifying ante with a whole load of accessories; Zooey’s look just seems too ‘tried-and-tested!’ Sorry, Jess Z! Agree with our style verdict? First look: Kristen Stewart for Chanel’s Métiers d’Art collection

Kristen Stewart has gone from Twilight to Texas! At the end of last year we told you the very exciting news that Twilight’s Kristen Stewart had been chosen to be the face of Chanel’s Métiers d’Art collection… and now it’s time for the very first look at the ad campaign. What do you think of her transformation? Kristen is sporting a killer cornrow Mohawk, and is rocking some fiercely lined eyes courtesy of the Ecriture de Chanel Automatic Liquid Eyeliner. The felt pen is great for precision as it lets you get the line as subtle or as dramatic as you want. So how did Karl and Kirsten pick her image for the ad campaign? “It was about finding which pieces from the collection worked on me,” the actress turned Chanel muse said. “He’s so good at seeing something that’s not cool and making it cool. “Like, I would have my leg in one position and he would throw a toothpick in my mouth and tell me to stop leaning on my leg and in two seconds it was like, ‘Oh, there it is.’ It was very cool and easy and artistic. I didn’t feel like I had to push outside of myself. I didn’t have to try to turn into someone else.” Karl Lagerfeld throwing toothpicks? We would have given anything to have been a fly on that wall! You can actually check out some behind the scenes footage right here, but sadly the toothpick throwing didn’t make the cut What do you think of Kristen Stewart for Chanel? [People]

Emma Stone is Worst Dressed of the week in Chanel

Seldom do A-listers set a sartorial foot wrong; but this week, Emma Stone has done just that! Attending the Berlin premiere of her latest film, The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro, the actress wore a Chanel creation from the pre-fall 2014 collection. Featuring an embellished, ankle-grazing maxi skirt and tucked in multi-coloured top, it made for on-the-fence look. We’re not to sure about the gold embroidery sitting again the three-way colour palette, and the exposed heels make the outfit appear awkwardly short, rather than purposefully so. But, it’s not just the outfit that isn’t sitting right with us. The tightly curled do she debuted with this look doesn’t suit the delicate outlook of the outfit; wispy chiffon calls for a softer hairstyle. Props for the make-up, though, and for going sans accessories, as too much would’ve completely written off this look! Although she hasn’t failed to impress, sartorially speaking, during the promotional tour of her film, this look is one that’s let the side down. What do you make of this outfit? [Image: Zimbio]

Rihanna vs. Keira Knightley…Who wore Chanel better?

Being a Paris Fashion Week stalwart, the hype and excitement surrounding Kaiser Karl’s seasonal offerings at Chanel knows no bounds. So, naturally, we expect nothing short of a super-stellar front row attendance, too Involved in a fierce frock-off this week are Keira Knightley and Rihanna, and you know it doesn’t get more bring-your-A-game than this pair of Chanel darlings. Arriving at the autumn/winter 2014 show in Paris, both ladies rocked waist-accentuating numbers, making it pretty damn difficult to pick between the two! Although she’s clarified that she won’t repeat-wear her Chanel wedding dress, Keira Knightley still brought all the ‘double C’ charm to the front row. Dressed in a monochromatic cropped dress, her tiny waist made for the main attraction, beautifully accompanied by pointed gold pumps and a teensy chain-strap Chanel bag, natch. But, intent on stealing the show (as always), Rihanna bumped up the chic levels in a lilac dress of similar style. Bringing her own brand of quirk to the look, RiRi mixed it up with matching bum bag and the shoe-cessory du jour: sneakers. Rounding off her look were retro-inspired cat-eye sunglasses and an oversized pearl bracelet. So, whose look is worthy of stealing the front row Queen (C) Bee crown? Tough one, isn’t it? Given both ladies subscribe to completely opposite schools of style, we can’t forget Mr. Lagerfeld encourages a pretty-gone-hyper-cool approach to fashion. So, inevitably, Mademoiselle RiRi takes the style crown this week. Whose look wins for you? [Images: Rihanna; Keira]

First look: Keira Knightley’s third Chanel Coco Mademoiselle ad campaign (pics + video!)

Keira Knightley is back for the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle ad campaign – and it looks like the third installment is cooler and chicer than ever! The print ads were shot by Mario Testino, and the video – entitled Where is she Now? –  was directed by Atonement’s Joe Wright. “The third film is very silver and quite cool,” Keira said in a press release. “But again, nobody can quite capture her [her character]; so she is kind of there, but she is sort of playing with them … And then she gets on a speed boat! What more can you ask for?” While the overt sexiness found in the first two ads has been toned down, the video campaign certainly isn’t lacking in mystery, seduction and adventure, as Keira goes on a James Bond style disappearing act. Plus, the She’s Not There soundtrack from The Zombies couldn’t be more appropriate for the storyline! The print ads will debut in April, but you can take a look at Keira Knightley’s third Chanel Coco Mademoiselle right here. What are your thoughts? Is this the best one yet? [Huffington Post]

Why Keira Knightley probably won’t be wearing her recycled Chanel wedding dress again…

Chanel wedding dresses have been dominating the blogosphere lately. Lily Allen sent everyone into a panic when she revealed that she lost her Chanel wedding dress last week… but just wait ‘til you hear what Keira Knightley has done to her Chanel wedding dress which she has worn on several occasions… “It’s now got red wine spilled down the front,” Keira revealed. “I didn’t quite realise the extent of it until I got home. It’s quite impressively splattered. But, hey, a good night is a good night and when a dress has had its time, maybe it’s had its time. “I’m pretty sure I can get it out but, if I can’t, I’m happy with the memory of a good night and the story of how the dress got destroyed.” Well she sounds a lot calmer than we would be if a Chanel dress we owned suffered the same fate; but then again, a Chanel muse and friend of Karl Lagerfeld might have a better chance of getting another one than we would. Amanda Seyfried sizzles in Chanel swimsuit for W’s April issue

Amanda Seyfried has once again returned to the front cover of W magazine, only this time she’s left Justin Timberlake behind and is going at it alone. Who needs Justin when you have a Chanel swimsuit to share the front cover with… The 28-year-old blonde actress looks positively radiant on the cover and in the entire Craig McDean lensed editorial shoot, as she rocks some of the cutest new-season pieces imaginable, including swimwear from Dolce and Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, and of course, Chanel. Inside the mag, Amanda talks about boredom being her biggest fear, as well as what it was like kissing Megan Fox all those years go for Jennifer’s Body, her recent holiday, and her views on fame and social media… “It may be that I’m older, and it may be that social media is everywhere now. I don’t think I was really famous until last year—and I felt like no one paid much attention to what I was doing,” she said. “That was good. But Les Mis was an international hit, and that changed things. Before, I was a little more anonymous.” We don’t know about you, but Amanda Seyfried has been hot on our radar since the Mean Girls days. We can’t wait to read the rest of her interview in the April issue of W.

Panic over – Lily Allen has found her Chanel wedding dress!

Call off the search – Lily Allen’s wedding dress has been found! The blogosphere has been in a frenzy over the past 24 hours as it came to everyone’s attention that Lily Allen’s custom made Chanel Haute Couture wedding dress which she wore to her reception had gone missing. The singer admitted that it had disappeared in an interview with Miquita Oliver on 4Music’s Rock the Look after being asked what the most expensive item in her wardrobe was… “There’s two bits to that answer. One is that it’s not in my wardrobe, it’s gone missing,” Lily admitted.  “And two, it’s my Chanel Couture wedding dress that’s worth about £200,000. It’s gone. I don’t know where it is.” We broke out in a bit of a sweat when we heard that such a fine piece of Karl Lagerfeld craftsmanship was lost, but Lily took to Twitter last night to assure her fans and fashionistas alike that it had been found. “OK, EVERYONE RELAX, I FOUND IT !!!!!!!!! A couple of weeks ago now,” she tweeted. Phew! We can sleep easy! [Image]

Jennifer Lopez wears Chanel for ultra colourful InStyle US April cover

You can never go wrong with tapping Jenny from the Block for a magazine cover, so that’s exactly what InStyle US has done for its bright and cheerful April issue. Jennifer Lopez is looking like a true Hollywood babe with her striped Chanel outfit, voluminous sleek waves and fierce, bold red lipstick. Time seems to have frozen as far as Jen’s face, body and impeccable style is concerned, but believe it or not she is in her 40s. And she’s ok with that, because she thinks the media society is ok with it too… “The turning point was a couple years ago, when the September issue of women’s magazines had cover girls that were all over 40—Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock, Julia Roberts, me,” she said. “It was hard not to be happy. That says something about our society.” She also told the mag that, just like most people, she doesn’t like being on her own… “Look, I don’t love being alone. I can’t beat myself up for that,” she continued. “What I have to do is figure out why I don’t like it….But where I am now, what I’ve been through, there are no rules.  There are just lots of ways it can turn out instead of just one.” Well put, Jennifer! You can read the rest of her candid interview in the InStyle US April issue which hits newsstands tomorrow, March 14th.

Dubai to host Chanel’s next Cruise collection

Where is Karl Lagerfeld taking Chanel for the next Cruise collection? Dubai, of course! Dubai seems like a very apt place for the pre-spring/summer 2015 show, given the scorching temperatures of the Middle East. “Chanel is very pleased to present its 2014-15 Cruise collection in Dubai,” said Bruno Pavlovsky, President of Chanel Fashion. “In addition to being a key hub for our Fashion business in the Middle East, Dubai was chosen because it inspires travel and evokes the true spirit of Cruise. “The show that we will hold in this city on May 13th, in the presence of Karl Lagerfeld, will be a unique event that will feed the public’s imagination around our brand.” Dubai seems like the perfect destination for the next Cruise collection; especially as there are no less than five ready-to-wear stores in Dubai! We’ll let you know when the exact details of the venue have been released, or any other info we deem interesting. You excited? [Image]

Rihanna wows in 20-year-old Chanel suit on Good Morning America

Well doesn’t Rihanna scrub up well? Rihanna is a versatile artist and dresser, and although we don’t have a problem with the majority of her racy costumes, we love it when she surprises us and goes for something on the chic and elegant scale too. And nothing screams chic and lady-like better than vintage Chanel, right? The Bajan singer made a guest appearance on Good Morning America to promote her work with MAC, and wore a bright coral skirt suit from the Chanel spring/summer 1994 (no, not a typo – this suit really is 20 years old!) collection for the occasion. Her outfit proved what we already knew, and that’s that the French fashion House really does make timeless creations! Rihanna completed her chic appearance by wearing some gorgeous Manolo Blahnik pumps, wearing her hair sleek and straight, and opting for minimal make-up save for a bold red lip. One of our favourite Ri Ri looks in months; what say you? [Image]

First look at Zooey Deschanel’s Tommy Hilfiger collection

Earlier this week we brought you the very exciting news that New Girl actress and all-round cutie pie Zooey Deschanel would be teaming up with Tommy Hilfiger for an epic 16-piece dress collection… and now it’s time to treat you to the very first look of some of the key pieces in the gorgeous new range. And who better to model them than Zooey herself, eh? The dress collection is pretty much everything we expected it to be – and more – and everything we love about Tommy Hilfiger and Zooey Deschanel in an aesthetically pleasing package. Who knew they had so much in common? “Tommy and I share many of the same inspirations,” Zooey said. “Old-school music, classic films and old Hollywood icons – and his guidance during the design process helped to put a really unique twist on each piece.” Prices of the new collection range from $98 to $199, and it lands in stores and online on April 21st. Put it in the diary because we doubt the pieces will stick around for long! [Marie Claire]

Zooey Deschanel designs 16 dresses for Tommy Hilfiger!

If, like us, you heart Zooey Deschanel’s cute, quirky and totally unique style then you’ll be pretty excited to learn that she has designed a 16-piece dress collection for Tommy Hilfiger! 14 of the 16 dresses will reportedly launch on April 14th at Macy’s, with the other two landing on the Tommy Hilfiger website on April 21st, with prices ranging from $98 and $199. So, what can we expect from the collection? “They are Sixties-inspired short dresses. There is a lot of red, white and blue, but done in a Zooey way with interesting detail and flirty fabrics,” Tommy Hilfiger said of the collection. “They are very Jean Shrimpton and Twiggy – really from the Sixties in London. That’s not something we would normally put in our regular sportswear line – maybe we’d be inspired by the Sixties for the runway, but it’s a new way to look at fun, American classics.” So basically we can expect a sartorial cocktail of Zooey, Tommy Hilfiger, Twiggy and London all rolled into one. Roll on, April! [Vogue]

Chanel’s couture trainers aren’t as accessible as we thought…

Were you one of the many excited fashionistas who jumped for joy when Karl Lagerfeld swapped heels for trainers in the Chanel Couture show in Paris earlier this week? Well, if you thought you could get your hands – and feet – on some Chanel Couture trainers that you could wear every single day without feeling any pain then we have some bad news. Unless you’re an A-list celeb or someone with a bank account to rival the Kardashian klan kombined (sorry!), it’s going to be a somewhat impossible task to get a pair because they aren’t actually on sale individually. This means you would have to splash out on the entire couture look, which as you can imagine, is going to be pretty pricey. However if you are still determined to get your hands on a pair of Chanel trainers, don’t despair as Karl Lagerfeld has assured us that some non-Couture trainers will be on the market too in the commercial and ready-to-wear collections. Non couture Chanel trainers are better than no Chanel trainers at all, right?

Couture Fashion Week highlights from Dior, Chanel, Giambattista Valli and more

There’s nothing better to get us into the pre-Oscars spirit than good old Couture Fashion Week in Paris. As well as watching the models float down the Parisian runways in the finest Couture and salivating at the luxury pieces they are draped in, we can’t help but envision which of our favourite A-listers (and we really do mean A-listers – only the cream of the crop are truly worthy!) might rock the pieces on the upcoming red carpets. Jennifer Lawrence in Dior? Check! Diane Kruger in Chanel? Double check! Raf Simons went for a modern and somewhat practical theme for the Dior Couture collection; relaxed, worldly, effortless! “I was thinking about taking the theatrical out and taking it more into reality,” Raf Simons said. “As a designer, you have a responsibility to do both — to trigger her fantasy with the show, but give her the reality as well.” We think that describes the collection perfectly! Karl Lagerfeld was also going for a somewhat relaxed and comfortable theme; how else would you explain the trainers and the… are those shin pads? The classic Chanel aesthetic was still as evident as ever though, with pastel hues, the classic Chanel tweed suit, and elaborate detailing not only in the pieces themselves but in the entire show. Donatella Versace was inspired by the contemporary goddess, which definitely shone through thanks to the Grace Jones esque hoods. “A contemporary goddess: power, determination, strength, and glamour — that’s what I was thinking about,” Donatella explained. “And how this woman can show her soft side, being a Versace, because Versace is always very spectacular.” What do you think of our favourite looks from Couture Fashion Week so far? Let us know if you have any red carpet awards season predictions!

Keira Knightley is chic and dramatic in Chanel

The imminent release of Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit means that we’re going to be seeing a lot more of Keira Knightley on the red carpet as she’s on the promotional trail of her new film, and it looks like we’re going to be in for a real treat if this look is anything to go by. The gorgeous English rose was the epitome of perfection as she attended the Hollywood premiere, opting to wear a chic navy and white piece by, you guessed it, Chanel! The dress and accessories may have been understated, but Keira’s eye make-up was not. She had seductively lined black and blue eyes which brought out the deep colour of the dress, and made the whole look dramatic and totally wow-some! Welcome back to the red carpet, Keira!

Getting inspiration from the Chanel Dallas Metiers d’Art show

The Chanel Dallas Metiers d’Art show is still one of the hottest topics of conversation right now, for both good and not so good reasons. Karl Lagerfeld has spoken out about how his recent Texas inspired designs are not an excuse to step out of the house in fancy dress, nor has he directly apologised for that Native American headdress that made its way down the Dallas runway. However, there are a few things we took away from the show that we will be incorporating into our wardrobes, and here are a few pieces to help you do the same should you also want some Chanel/Texas sartorial inspiration: 1. Can’t get more literal than that, right? Somedays Lovin bless Texas top, £35 2. Show your love for Texas with this loud yet comfy long sleeve shirt! American Eagle long sleeve shirt, £15.28 3. We all need a bit of Chanel in our lives, and these earrings are a great and purse-friendly way to show that the brand is never far from your heart! Chanel Vintage clip on earrings, £295 4. A fun watch to add to your casual outfit! Game Time watch, £29.82 5. Sexy black heeled boots with a fringe finish? Yes please! F&F fringed boots, £25 6. Fringe done the sparkly way! Stella McCartney cross body bag, £645 7. Flapper chic meets Dallas darling – we love this dress! Hoss Intropia silk fringed hem dress, £354.99

Chanel (sort of) apologises for that Native American headdress

We’re having a serious case of déjà vu. This time last year, the fashion world was up in arms about the Native Americam headdress Karlie Kloss wore down the Victoa’s Secret catwalk, forcing the brand to pull her appearance from the broadcast and issue an apology for any offence caused. And now the very same thing is happening, only this time it’s Chanel’s Dallas Metiers d’Art show – more specifically the feathered headdress above. The situation hasn’t played out in the same way though, as Karl Lagerfeld didn’t seem keen on getting down on his knees and begging for forgiveness… “The Chanel Paris-Dallas Metiers d’Art 2013/2014 collection is a celebration of the beauty of Texas,” a spokesperson for Chanel said. “Native Americans are an integral part of Texas’ rich history and culture and the feather headdress, a symbol of strength and bravery, is one of the most visually stunning examples of creativity and craftsmanship. “We deeply apologise if it has been misinterpreted or is seen as offensive as it was really meant to be a tribute to the beauty of craftsmanship.” We think that means that they’re sorry if anyone was offended by it, but it’s staying firmly put because their intensions were pure. Thoughts?

Kristen Stewart for Chanel – it’s official!

Wonderful news to wake up to this morning, as it’s just been announced that Kristen Stewart is the new face of Chanel! Kristen will be photographed by none other than Karl Lagerfeld himself for the 2013 Métiers d’Art Paris?Dallas collection campaign, and naturally had a front row seat for last night’s western-inspired Metiers d’Art show in Texas. The former Twilight star follows in the footsteps of the gorgeous Diane Kruger, Blake Lively and our very own English rose Keira Knightley as a Chanel campaign star, so she’s definitely in good company. She’s also the face of Balenciaga’s Florabotanica fragrance, so she’s obviously had some practice posing for a big fashion ad campaign. The Métiers d’Art Paris?Dallas collection campaign is slated to break in May next year, so keep your eyes peeled. Congrats to Kristen on her new fashion job; we can’t wait to see the ad campaign! Karl Lagerfeld’s Coco Chanel film to coincide with Dallas show

It’s pretty safe to say that we’re going to love anything that Karl Lagerfeld directs, and we think his brand new short film about the one and only Coco Chanel is going to be right up there with our favourites. The latest short film, entitled The Return, was written and directed by Kaiser Karl, the release of which will coincide with the Paris-Dallas 14 Métiers d’Art show which will take place in the Lone Star State. The film will depict Coco Chanel re-opening her Couture space in 1954, receiving criticism from the French press, and eventually working with Neiman Marcus among other things. The coveted lead role of Coco Chanel has gone to Charlie Chaplin’s daughter Geraldine Chaplin – and we think the casting has been spot on! Some familiar Chanel faces such as Anna Mouglalis, Lady Amanda Harlech and Rupert Everett will also be making an appearance, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for them. Will we see his kitty cat Choupette make a cheeky little cameo? Only time will tell! The Return will debut in Dallas, Texas on December 10th at 6:30 pm local time; us non-Texans can watch it on chanel.com! [Refinery 29]

Joanna Lumley turns to Chanel and Lulu Guinness for Ab Fab Pudsey Bear

We admit that watching Absolutely Fabulous back in the day helped us learn all the big names in the fashion industry… even though its main characters Patsy and Eddie didn’t do the best job of rocking the pieces. So, it comes as no surprise to learn that Joanna Lumley has created her very own Ab Fab ‘Sweetie Darling’ (her character Patsy’s catchphrase) Pudsey Bear for Children in Need – and has turned to Chanel and Lulu Guinness for help! The bear is wearing a Linton tweed jacket with vintage Chanel buttons, and is holding an instantly recognisable Lulu Guinness lips bag. “This project really has been tremendous fun; I loved dreaming up my Pudsey design,” she said. “I don’t believe it needs much explanation, but my design is a reflection of a character I hold very dear, Patsy! “I hope this Bear has just as much fun being Patsy as I did! Please do get bidding and give this adorable Bear a lovely home!” Coldplay, Sir Terry Wogan, Dame Shirley Bassey, Brian May, Dame Judi Dench and Dame Helen Mirren have also designed bears for the charity. Even Sir Paul McCartney designed a Sgt Pepper inspired one – do you reckon he asked his daughter Stella McCartney for help? Click here to see all the bears and find out how you can bid.

Is Rita Ora the new face of Chanel?

If we are to believe the speculation, Rita Ora may very well be the brand new face of Chanel… news which is making us very giddy with excitement indeed. This news doesn’t really surprise us considering she was on the front row for the Chanel spring/summer 2014 show during Paris Fashion Week. “Taking a midnight stroll with the man who inspires me to be glamorous at all times without a hint of doubt. Love you uncle Karl,” she wrote on her Instagram while posting some pictures of her antics with Karl Lagerfeld and Cara Delevingne. She also captioned another picture with the following: “HORNS ON HORNS ON HORNS….#CoCoBaby #KL #secret #surprise” The words Karl Lagerfeld, Coco, Secret and Surprise all point to good things so we can’t wait until someone lets the cat out the bag and lets us know what is officially happening. It would be a great addition to her already very impressive fashion CV which also boasts ads for DKNY and Material Girl, among others. We would love to see Rita Ora star alongside BFF Cara Delevingne in a Chanel ad… wouldn’t you? [Metro]

Zooey Deschanel fronts Marie Claire UK November issue

It’s been a few weeks since we saw the last episode of the second season of New Girl, so it’s safe to say that we’re having serious Zooey Deschanel withdrawal symptoms. Sad face! Luckily for us, we can get our Zooey fix in Marie Claire UK’s November issue, as Jess Day herself is posing pretty in Saint Laurent on the front cover. Result! You might be having a bit of a case of déjà vu, as the cover image is a reprint from the all-important Marie Claire US September issue, but that shouldn’t make it any less exciting. Especially if you never managed to get your hands on the original. The magazine is packed with glorious Zooey Deschanel pictures, as well as wonderful inspirational quotes from the lady herself. Add the exciting features advertised on the cover – we’re particularly thrilled about the big, voluminous hair article – and you’ve got yourself an un-missable November issue for sure. Clemence Poesy does simple chic on Chanel FROW

A little simplicity can go a long, long way. And Clemence Poesy arriving at the Chanel show during Paris Fashion Week to take her rightful place on the front row is poof of that. The gorgeous French actress looked incredible in a simple pair of rolled up blue jeans, a black top, black flats and a chic Chanel boucle jacket. Just goes to show that investing in a “statement” piece, in this case the Chanel jacket, can transform even the simplest and most casual of outfits into something wow-worthy. She definitely dressed circles around the other frow-ers which says a lot considering the likes of Rita Ora and Katy Perry were also in attendance. Clemence completed her flawless look by wearing her hair in some glamorous tumbling waves, going for subtle make-up and of course, an essential black Chanel bag.

Paris Fashion Week SS14 highlights from Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen & more

We don’t think anyone’s going to forget the penultimate and final days of Paris Fashion Week and Fashion Month any time soon. Yesterday saw the likes of Chanel, Alexander McQueen and Valentino present their respective spring/summer 2014 collections, while today the world proudly watched as Marc Jacobs debuted his final collection while at the Louis Vuitton helm. It’s been emotional! It was all very bright, fun, colourful and youthful on the Chanel catwalk, as the Grand Palais show space was cleverly made up like an art gallery. We always wonder what Karl Lagerfeld will think of to one-up himself every season, and we’re rarely disappointed with what he and the team have up their sleeves. There was a subtle nod to the 50s and 60s thanks to the prints, colours and boots, but there was also a modern twist on classic Chanel pieces too. A real mixed bag that had us foaming at the mouth from start to finish. Cara Delevingne’s multi-colour one-shouldered dress was definitely one of our highlights! Marc Jacobs was on the complete opposite end of the spectrum for his final Louis Vuitton collection. The classic Louis Vuitton graffiti print came out to play, as did grungier elements such as mesh, fishnets, and more black than you can shake a stick at. Marc Jacobs definitely ensured he went out with an almighty bang as both show and collection were breathtaking! Elsewhere in Paris, Sarah Burton went warrior and tribal for the Alexander McQueen SS14 collection – the models even came complete with their very own helmets – while the theme of the Valentino collection was somewhat regal and medieval. And that’s it, guys. Fashion Month is well and truly over for another season! What have been your highlights from the New York, London, Milan and Paris catwalks? Louis […]

Zooey Deschanel sparkles for Marie Claire US in Saint Laurent Paris

When Blake Lively covered Lucky’s September issue, she said she enjoyed it so much because it allowed her to wear and put together clothes she wouldn’t normally choose herself. We think that’s the beauty of bringing in hot magazine stylists for cover shoots – but we don’t think that’s what happened when Zooey Deschanel sat for Tesh for the Marie Claire US September issue. The gorgeous 33-year-old New Girl actress was rocking her usual attire of oversized knits and tights for many of the editorial images, and although we think she looked incredible (as she always does in our opinion) we would have preferred a far more adventurous photoshoot. We are loving the sparkle though! And we also love Zooey’s accompanying interview as she spoke to the mag about her speech, hating crowds and her website HelloGiggles.com… “I just felt it’s important to teach young girls to be strong people, to not think, I can’t do this because I’m worried about what people will say,” she said. “There are worse consequences, but online negativity stops people from being creative, part of which is having bad ideas as well as good ideas. “When somebody says, ‘That idea’s stupid,’ you stop your flow of ideas. We can’t have the next generation be so afraid because they have been attacked.” Marie Claire US’s September issue is out August 13th.

Olivia Wilde wears Chanel for InStyle US August

InStyle US has gone stripped back and natural, tapping gorgeous actress Olivia Wilde for its August 2013 issue. This just goes to show that you don’t need your cover stars to flash the flesh and overdose on sparkle for an attention-grabbing cover! In fact, a Chanel jacket and Guess jeans will pretty much do the trick. See above for proof! Olivia posed for a host of stunning pictures, and also opened up about her fiancé Jason Sudeikis, her bridesmaids, her confidence, and her sartorial choices of the past. “I’m pretty comfortable in my own skin,” Olivia told the mag. “I’m not the neurotic type. I don’t think there are things lurking everywhere to destroy me. I live pretty much in the present.” “I used to dress like bluesman John Lee Hooker, with wide-collared polyester shirts and corduroy suits. Boys were my role models back then. I have the torso of a tall woman and the lower body of a short woman. Who knows what evolutionary purpose I’ve been made for? People always told me I had nice eyes, so I accentuated that.” InStyle US’s August issue is out right now; will you be adding it to your magazine collection?

First look: Diane Kruger’s Chanel Beauty ad campaign

Back in April we told you the very exciting news that Diane Kruger had landed a Chanel beauty ad campaign (and it was about ruddy time too, we thought) and now it’s time to treat you to the very first look at the ad in question. As expected, Ms Kruger looks positively radiant in the Chanel skincare ad campaign, which was expertly shot by Peter Lindbergh against a picturesque, beachy backdrop. We love the simplicity of the ad campaign; but then again Diane Kruger never really needed any fancy bells or whistles to look radiant, did she? Chanel’s Resynchronising Collection consists of respective Le Jour de Chanel, La Nuit de Chanel and Le Weekend de Chanel creams, which have been created to help reenergise the skin. Diane is the perfect ambassador for the skincare range – we’ll be snapping some of those products up asap. Er, funds allowing, of course! [Grazia]

Alexa Chung does Chanel chic at the Grand Palais in Paris

Sure Alexa Chung does dressed-down androgynous meets schoolgirl chic like no other, but she knows how to do ladylike and classy too. In fact not only does she know how to do it, but she knows how to excel in it; rock it, if you will. Take her look for the Chanel Haute Couture show at the Grand Palais in Paris, for example… Alexa took a leaf out of Jennifer Aniston’s book by opting for a short, little black dress, but unlike Jen who considers her LBD her go-to, safe outfit, this was sort of out of Alexa’s sartorial comfort zone. The ladylike lace sleeves are something we would expect from Kate Middleton (in fact it was one of the defining aspects of her wedding dress, remember?) but not from Alexa. That being said, she pulled them – and the entire look – off perfectly, and her personal style wasn’t lost either thanks to the chic but slightly messy updo and the quirky buckle sandals. And her look wouldn’t have been complete without that stunning Chanel bag draped over her shoulder! The Chungmeister got it right once again – no surprises there!
