The Best Accessories To Elevate Your Outfits This Spring

Spring is in full swing, and although the weather remains fickle, with chilly wind gusts one moment and bright sunshine the next, everyone is getting their warm-weather wardrobes ready. And while everyone focuses on the garment styles and trends that’ll be all the rage during the warm season, the accessories are often forced to take the backseat. Yet, failing to highlight what to expect when it comes to accessories means that you’ll only be able to create outfits that are only half as good as they could be. Sunglasses, bags and scarves can elevate an ensemble and make even the most basic getup stand out. Here are some of the accessory trends that’ll dominate fashion during the spring season which you should consider incorporating into your wardrobe. Metals  This spring and summer season is all about going back to the basics. Clean lines and simple colors are favored, so if your style veers on the side of minimalism, it’s your time to shine. Classic metal jewelry will be trendy in 2023, so it’s time to bring your old pieces back to light or shop for new ones. And if you’ve been debating whether you’re team gold or team silver, this year lets you mix and match so you can wear both simultaneously and create a look that stands out. Color  Just because fashion is shifting towards minimalism this year, it doesn’t mean that the color palette is exclusively restricted to beige, gray and black. In fact, one of the biggest trends this spring is for colorful tights. While the fashion world has a famously complicated relationship with stockings, alternately considering them fashionable or a sartorial faux pas, one thing’s for sure, 2023 finds them to be quite cool. Pink, electric blue and bright red are some of the favorites you […]

13 Ways Men Can Level Up Their Style For Spring

Spring is always an exciting time for fashion. Everyone is eager to shake off the doom and gloom of winter and experiment with lighter, more refreshing looks. If you’re equally ready to try something new, here are a few tips for taking your spring style to the next level. Tip #1: Earrings Earrings can be an understated way to show off your wealth and taste. If you’re wearing something like men’s 10K gold earrings, for example, you can add the Midas touch to your outfit without being overly flashy about it. The quality of the jewelry will be self-evident. Still, it won’t demand attention or detract from the rest of your outfit. Just like spring, it will take a milder approach. Tip #2: Light Colors It’s time to pack away all of those dark blues and blacks. Winter is over, so you can embrace a lighter color palette. These might range from soft, subtle pastels to tried-and-true neutrals like white, gray and beige. As long as they aren’t dark, they’ll absorb less sunlight as the weather warms, keeping you cool while looking stylish. Incorporate these light colors into your clothing, hats, shoes, jewelry and other accessories. Tip #3: New Fabrics Do you always wear cotton shirts? Upgrade to silk or linen. Do you have a cheap watch made from zinc alloy? Get luxurious with something made from genuine, high-quality gold, silver or platinum. Spring is the season of new beginnings, so it’s the ideal time to transform your usual look into something fresh and bold. Think about draping yourself in new materials from head to toe. Tip #4: Scarves If winter hasn’t quite loosened its grip where you live, you might find that scarves are fashionable and functional. They don’t have to be the thick and wooly things you wear […]

Step Into a New Season in Style – Top Footwear Styles to Shop this Spring

Are you ready for bold colors, cute sandals, and sky-high platforms? It’s time to trade in those heavy winter boots for something light, fun, and colorful this spring. So let’s dive in and see what’s trending this season.  Dopamine dressing – a new trend only for the brave  It goes without saying that black is a classy color with which you simply can not go wrong. Usually, whatever you are wearing, black shoes – the right style of course – will go with it. However, a new trend that is gaining mainstream popularity is the one called ‘dopamine dressing’. As the name suggests, it’s exciting, bold, and takes some guts to pull off. In a nutshell, it refers to colorful footwear (from red and orange to cooler hues, like green and steel blue) that serves to uniquely complement your outfit and accessories. In other words, it brings out the colors you’re wearing – and, needless to say, draws attention. An example would be pairing a neon outfit with mauve pumps. This is the type of trend that top names like Versace and Stella McCartney couldn’t wait to embrace this spring. So if you’re willing to try something fresh and bold this spring, this is just the thing for you.   Breaking the rules with sporty sandals  “The athleisure trend lives on and sporty sandals are set to be popular this Spring, as seen across the Spring/Summer catwalks of Hermes and Chloe, notes Katie Eastwood, the Style Ambassador at Stitch Fix UK. Chunky soles are back, which might remind you of the 80s and 90s. What makes them extra special, however is that they are combined with comfortable neoprene fabric and velcro straps, which makes them extremely pleasant to wear. “These sandals epitomize our want for both style and comfort”, adds Eastwood. Our favorites include Nili Lotan Jackets, bra tops, and color combos.  Check out our list of  the spring of 2022 must-have items below: Oversized Jackets Oversized jackets are just that — oversized jackets! They can be made from any material and color but are typically worn with cropped pants or skirts and wide-legged trousers. I see this look being big for the spring season and maybe even into summer. However, we do have one warning: oversized jackets can go from calm to not-so-cool in a matter of minutes, so make sure you’re pulling it off if you try it out. And as always, make sure your fit is impeccable; otherwise, you might look sloppy or like you raided your dad’s closet. Bra tops! It’s a trend that’s making waves in the fashion community but hasn’t entirely made its way to your closet yet. It’s a bit of an investment, but the way it adds an extra touch of glamor to your structured look is worth it. This spring and summer, you’ll see bra tops alongside blazers and jackets, but it works just as well under sheer shirts and dresses. Bra tops are a little tricky—you have to make sure that […]

Right now, we may be lcoked down, but there’s no harm in wanting to prepare for the warmer season. Order clothes online and try new makeup looks and when spring comes, you’ll be glowing.  Although the pandemic isn’t merciful, there’s one good thing that it’s giving us – tons of inspiration material. The creative home looks made quarantine bearable and helped us have fun. So fun is what we are going to do this spring – no care about classics, or “appropriate” hair length and color, or cutting your bangs too short. We’re going to have fun looking exactly how we want to. Here are some inspirational spring 2021 hair trends. Bob&Bangs Bob is easy, comfortable, and stylish. Look at Kim Kardashian: her recent blunt cut bob will look amazing on anyone. Curl the ends a little and add some texture – 2021 is all about the body!  Have you been waiting for a sign to cut your hair short? Here it is – get inspired by the recent look by Gucci. You can make that hairstyle at home; just ensure that you have scissors that make precise cuts – look for them on the websites of professional hair styling shops – like, for example, Scissor Tec. If you prefer classics and want to avoid mistakes at any cost, try a chin-length bob (also known as French bob). And don’t forget about the bangs if you want to try something different!  Choppy Pixies One of the most stylish 2021 hairstyles is a pixie. Always wanted to try it but never actually had the guts to do it? Now it’s high time! Try to make it a little longer than classic Audrey pixie, […]

If you’ve been anything like us during quarantine, you probably haven’t worn anything except sweatpants or leggings and your favorite baggy tee. Although we love being comfy while lounging at home just as much as the next person, it’s also nice to remember what it feels like to wear nice clothes and show off your favorite gold chain necklaces or new spring shoes. Although we’ve seen this to be popular in women’s fashion, there are plenty of cool gold chains for men that will bring your outfit to the next level. Find a material that matches with your individual style—white or yellow gold or cheaper pieces made from brightly colored plastic or even clay.  The Disco Collar Okay, we’re super excited about this one—the long, flared-out disco collar on men’s shirts and jackets that give us serious John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever vibes. Many designers have been experimenting with this classic 70s and 80s look to bring a little bit of vintage back into our modern style. We highly recommend giving this look a go if you have a special event or a big night out that calls for […]

The Spring/Summer 2020 Fashion Trends We’ll Be Wearing

Yes, we’ve had an onslaught of storms. Yes, the rainfall seems like it’s never-ending. And yes, it’s bitterly cold…BUT, we’ve spied some daffodils starting to bloom. Which is one of the best telltale signs that spring is on its way. And while Fashion Week is in full swing and providing us with inspiration for autumn/winter 2020, naturally we’re still in the process of planning our wardrobes for spring.  So what can we expect for the new season ahead? Well, we have the usual floral prints to contend with. Obvious, but worth mentioning anyway. And thanks to designers including Balmain, Maison Margiela, and Dries Van Noten, polka dots are going to be everywhere, along with feminine tailoring, embroidery designs, exaggerated collars, bucket hats, and crochet to name a few.  Now, while there are some trends we’ll be steering clear of because let’s face it, we’re not supermodels and can’t pull off everything. Sigh. There are certain trends that we wouldn’t forgive ourselves for not trying. Ahead, we highlight the spring trends we’ll be wearing along with must-have pieces to complete the look.  WAISTCOATS  You’d be forgiven if every time you pictured a waistcoat you immediately thought of Kate Moss circa mid-2000s, in her famous signature shorts and knee-high boots. And while designers such as Anthony Vaccarello did send models down the catwalk in gorgeous tiny waistcoats, thankfully other versions of the waistcoat included a more grown-up, looser style as seen specifically at Armani and Hermes.  We11done wool-blend blazer available at Net-A-Porter  Double-breasted gilet available at Mango NEON 80’s trends always make a comeback every season in some shape or form. This spring/summer it’s back in full force in the way of fluorescent hues.  Vibrant, attention-grabbing, and fun, whether it’s a flirty lime green dress as seen at Valentino or head-to-toe electric […]

5 Ways To Transition Your Home From Winter To Spring

The mornings are getting lighter. The days are becoming longer. And chances are you’ve probably packed up all (or most) of your winter clothes in anticipation for spring and soon to be summer. However, while we tend to focus on getting our wardrobes in order for the new season, we often forget our homes. Usually we shy away from giving our homes a spring/summery makeover anticipating that it’ll be a costly endeavour. But the truth is, it really doesn’t have to be and just little changes here and there can make all the difference. If your decor is overdue a redesign then by all means, now is the time to go all out.  But if you’d rather not break the bank, here we highlight some small but impactful changes you can make to bring blooming spring into your indoor space. 1. Give your home a good spring clean. There’s no time like the present to get rid of the clutter, rethink your organization storage solutions and give your home a major deep clean. Either do it yourself or hire a professional, but be sure to tackle everything. From a thorough clean of all the windows and carpets to an inventory of your kitchen cupboards and a ruthless clear out of any food items that are past their expiration date. Often overlooked, don’t forget your bedroom especially the bedding. Focus especially on your mattress. Remove all stains, give it a good vacuum and flip and rotate it if necessary.  2. Update your interiors. With a clean and clear home, now is the time to have a good think about which changes you’d like to make to each room. Again, the updates don’t have to be major. Your living room may benefit just from a new piece of furniture, such as a […]

Contemporary Spring Essentials To Complete Your New Season Wardrobe

To think that in just less than 2 weeks we’ll be in March, is just mind-boggling. It literally feels as if it was Jan 1st just yesterday. Between the drama of Brexit and the overall chaos in British politics in general, there’s just been way too much going on to even consider the rate at which time is flying by. It’s safe to say, before we know it, we’ll be knee-deep in summer, parading around in t-shirts and shorts preferably on the beach, and ideally with a Brexit deal in place. In the meantime we have other important matters to think about such as our spring wardrobe. Yep, for the best in escapism you can’t beat planning your wardrobe for the season ahead. So, here we highlight our top essentials for spring. A versatile staple, the feminine silk shirt is the perfect am to pm piece. Style effortlessly for working days with tailored trousers or with jeans and flats at the weekend. Silk Shirt, £120 available at Jigsaw Any excuse to buy a new bag always works for us. We’re loving this spacious leather tote and while we’ve played it safe with navy, make a statement with the red or yellow version. Bridget Leather Tote, £159 available at Jigsaw Considering there’s still a chill in the air during early spring, we recommend opting for this Breton light knit to stay cost. What’s so special about this sweater however, is its subtle lace detail at the back. Breton Lace Back Sweater, £98 available at Jigsaw You can never have too many pairs of jeans. This season we’re still loving high-waist denim (will we ever stop? we’re not sure…) especially these barrel leg jeans. Go retro with a slogan tee, trainers and a cross-body bag for a great off-duty look. Mid Wash High Waist Barrel […]

Tips for Planning the Perfect Spring Wedding in the South

The blooming cherry trees and magnolias, the warm and mild weather and the lush greenery make springtime the perfect time of year for a Southern wedding. It’s for these reasons and many others that spring is the most popular season for weddings in the South, with a large chunk of weddings below the Mason-Dixon line taking place between April and June. If you’ve chosen this timeframe for your Southern nuptials, you’ve got plenty to look forward to. But there are a few things you need to know before you book that plantation, barn, garden, winery or orchard for your dream Southern wedding. Here are a few of our very best tips. The Weather: A Safe Bet, But Preparation Is Key Spring weather in the South is one of the primary reasons why brides and grooms choose it as the ideal season to say “I do.” With temperatures lingering comfortably in the 70s and 80s, this time of year provides a much-needed respite from the sweltering heat that blankets the region in July, August and September. Here are some things to know about the weather: It May Still Be Hot—The fact of the matter is that springtime is getting hotter and hotter, with above-average temperatures becoming the norm all over the country. Prepare for the worst—that is, temps in the high 80s-plus (Atlanta once posted a record high of 93 degrees in April, remember)—by ensuring that guests have ample shade, water and a comfortable place to cool down. If your wedding day looks like it’s going to be on the hot end, hand out paper fans as favors.   It May Be Rainy—Though mild temperature-wise, the spring does bring a slightly higher risk of rain in the South compared with other times of the year. If you plan to get married […]

How to Make Spring Trends Work For You

Spring is here and it’s the time of year when flowers are in bloom, the sun rises earlier, and you open your wardrobe and think to yourself “great, what am I going to wear?”, despite the numerous cute outfits hanging there. But, don’t let the fallacy of a “full wardrobe” fool you, most women who suffer from this condition tend to only wear about 20% of the clothes they own. That means 80% of your wardrobe is sitting there collecting dust and wondering whether it will ever see the light of day again. How tragic. Clothes are safest in a wardrobe but that’s not why clothes are made… It’s not just the excess of choice that can leave you in a spin, we now need to wrestle with the latest fashion trends coming out of Milan, New York and the 90s? Yes, it appears that all the crazy fashionistas in Shoreditch and Soho are looking back to the 90s for the latest trends and design inspirations – see the classic bum bags, the technologically out of date Walkman, and of course the stylings of 90s fashion icon, Cher Horowitz… they are all back this year – whatever is a woman to do?  You’re in luck because we have a couple little ideas that you might want to use this year. Add some colour A fashion trend to keep an eye on this Spring is bright colours. Prepare to see plenty of bright, block colours on the streets this year. But it’s not just bright colours that make for a trendy outfit, you should also look to pair bright colours with a bold print – perhaps something floral to match the season. According to scientists, brighter clothes make you happier, who knew? See the flowers bloom Speaking of floral, one timeless […]

Attending the screening of hubby Matthew Broderick’s latest movie “To Dust” at the TriBeCa Film Festival, the 53-year-old actress wore a gorgeous red, white, pink and blue frock paired with the Ursula pump from her very own line of shoes and a lush velvet blazer. A metallic cross-body bag complemented the ensemble perfectly. Beauty wise, the actress stuck to her signature style – heavy eyeliner and nude lips with a touch of lip gloss. Spring Clean Your Life: Our Top Tips to Refresh Your Mind and Body

March is a bit of an odd time for most of us. We’re stuck in that strange netherworld between winter and spring, counting down the days until the warmer weather, although we’re still resolutely wrapped up in our biggest, cosiest jumpers. It can all be a little confusing. Your mind can be as disoriented by the dragging darkness and dreary weather as your body, desperately needing a vitamin D infusion to give you some much-needed motivation. Your new year’s resolutions are a distant memory, your get up and go has got up and gone, and you just don’t know what to do with yourself. But never fear! Spring is on the horizon and everything is going to look so much brighter given another fortnight or two. It’s time to organise, to envision, and to begin laying the groundwork for a fantastic spring and summer. Here are four handy tips and tricks to help you do that… Focus on getting in your five a day You want to go into spring looking fresh-faced and dewy, and one of the best ways to give yourself a much-needed health boost is to focus on fitting in that all-important five a day. Although the comfort of junk food may call, you won’t be hiding away under a mountain of layers forever, so think about getting your diet back on track in time for summer. You’ll find that you feel much better for it, both physically and mentally.   Have a wardrobe clear-out Believe us when we say that nobody ever looks forward to the thought of a wardrobe overhaul but it’s still a necessary evil. A Sneak Peek At Spring Wedding Fashion For 2018

New year is barely behind us, and according to the met office, winter might still have some surprises in store, but on the catwalks around the world, spring is most definitely in the air. Nothing says “spring” like a wedding, so whether you are planning on tying the knot in the coming year, or just like to keep your finger on the pulse of what’s hot and what’s not, this seems like an ideal moment to take a look as some spring wedding fashions for 2018. Black is the new white The biggest names showed their cards at what is possibly the most well-known bridal fashion event of them all at the Metropolitan in New York at the end of last year, and the overriding impression was that black is definitely the new white where brides are concerned. Not that gothic weddings will suddenly be in, but a number of the top designers showcased black accents to the traditional white dress, including sophisticated bows, black hems and even one black ostrich feather ball gown skirt. Make up For tips of wedding make up, it is one thing to take some cues from New York, but those in the know tend to look a little closer to home for expert guidance. Sarah Meredith has worked as a bridal hair and make up artist for more than ten years and knows how to blend the latest fashion with practicality that will last throughout the big day. She feels that the “less is more” approach will never go out of fashion, particularly for a spring wedding, when the theme is all about newness and freshness. The top designers seemed to agree for the most part, and the fresh face and natural, glowing complexion was very much in evidence in New York. Having said […]

Pretty Is Back In Fashion For Spring!

Pretty is back, and isn’t it about time? Oh, there’s plenty of hard-edged stuff out there if you want to go that way, but with all the glorious flowers bursting into bloom at this time of year, it seems more fitting – and fun – to follow the one fashion trend of 2017 that celebrates femininity.  Here’s what to look for: Romantic Swimwear Romantic suits with definite lingerie influences, and boho styles with delicate handcrafted touches are the freshest looks for the beach. Tankinis aren’t a new thing in women’s swimsuits, but this year they fit right into the feminine trend, still baring as much as you dare, but not putting it all out there. Leaving a little something to the imagination can be a lot more intriguing than wearing something that says “hey, look at me!” Floaty Dresses As light as a warm breeze, you’ll find floaty dresses in florals that rival a garden show’s finest. Whether you choose a dress that’s short or one that grazes your calves, you’ll find yourself walking like a lady maybe for the first time in years. The runway shows were full of beauties from Oscar de la Renta, Alexander McQueen, Rodarte, Valentino, and other vaunted designers, and their influences have filtered down to wonderful dresses for day and evening in every price range. Billowy Sleeves We know you’ve sweated bullets at the gym to get those amazingly toned arms, but they don’t have to be on display all the time. Change it up from the hard body sleeveless look with long sleeves that billow softly from shoulder to wrist and add new interest to tops and dresses. One of the most romantic looks out there is the troubadour shirt with voluminous sleeves and a neckline that you can pull down off your […]

Wardrobe Update: Experiment With These Spring 2017 Dress Trends

Finally, there are signs that the weather is warming up, which means that it is time to get out there and start adding items to your spring wardrobe. The start of a new season is always a great time to go shopping and change your look up a bit, as new trends emerge. This spring, dresses are set to be a big part of most High Street retailer’s offer, and with a wide range of cuts, fabrics and finishes available, personalizing your look for the new season, will be easier than ever. The general trend It is clear that many fashion designers have drawn on the 70’s for inspiration. However, there are also a lot more classically cut dresses available this year. Designs that draw on cuts that were first made available in the late 40’s and early 50’s are everywhere, whilst other designers seem to have taken inspiration from the 1920’s. The mixing and matching approach that designers have taken this year makes it impossible to define the trend for spring 2017 succinctly. However, what we can say is that most of the dresses that you’ll see in stores over the next couple of months are going to be ultra-feminine and very glamorous. Pom Pom dresses Tiered pom pom dresses are just one example. Feminine and pretty, there are tons of variations available this year. If you want something to wear to a party, or on holiday, this style of dress is the perfect choice. Scuba dresses If you prefer a more tailored cut, a scuba dress could be the way to go. Made from stretch scuba material, they hug the figure and offer great support as the fabric they’re made from includes Elastane. They’re also extremely flexible, and, therefore, comfortable to wear. There are plenty of different cuts to choose […]

Victoria Beckham To Collaborate With Target For Spring 2017

It was bound to happen. We thought it’d be with H&M. But we were wrong. Retail giant Target has confirmed that they’ll be teaming up with designer Victoria Beckham for a limited edition collection scheduled to be released April 9th, 2017. The collection will consist of over 200 pieces of both women’s and childrenswear and will reflect “the essence of the Victoria, Victoria Beckham line, with easy-to-wear dresses, rompers and playful tops and bottoms for women, and corresponding styles for girls, toddler, and baby”. This is the first time Victoria’s ventured into the kids clothing arena, talking about her the project she said, “designing for children is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, so I was incredibly excited to be able to incorporate childrenswear into this collection. When working on it, I really felt I could tell a story and have fun with it—and I think the clothes reflect just how much fun I had designing them! ” What can we expect from the line? Well it’ll definitely be priced reasonably for a start, as affordability was one of the reasons why Victoria opted for a high street collaboration – “For a while now, I have been thinking how great it would be to work on clothes for a customer that either doesn’t want to pay or can’t pay designer prices. I loved the idea of opening the brand up to a wider audience and being able to share my vision with a broader customer base” she says. Prices will range from $6-$70, with most items under $40. Naturally like Victoria’s personal style, it’ll be feminine and functional and will feature pretty prints, pastels, and bright hues. The collection will be available both online and in all Target stores with select items available at victoriabeckham.com.  Exciting!

7 Commandments For Spring Cleaning Your Closet With Purpose

It’s that time of the year again when we get the urge to add new seasonal items to our wardrobes in preparation for the change in weather. For many of us, this also means finding a spare inch of space in our already overflowing closets. But fear not, below are 7 commandments you should be sticking to in order to make this year’s closet clear-out a success. 1. Set the mood with the right playlist The right music can impact our productivity, so setting the mood with some background music is a must. For many of us, an overdue closet clear-out may seem like a daunting task that may require some soothing tunes to get you through the ordeal. On the other hand, you may be quite excited about the prospect of some new wardrobe space but lack the motivation to get started. If this is the case then the situation calls for some golden oldies and guilty pleasures that will lighten your moods and prepare you for the task at hand. 2. Pull everything out One of the only ways to clearly see just how much clothing you have accumulated since your last ‘spring clean’ is to pull everything out. This requires an adequate amount of floor space and may seem scary but but keep reminding yourself of the end goal. You may be surprised at some of the older items lurking in the deep, dark depths of your closet. 3. Divide and conquer Now that all of your precious clothing is splayed all over the bedroom floor, it’s time to divide and conquer. According to personal stylists in Melbourne, organisation is key at this point. Start making piles and sorting clothing into categories. This is the point where you will truly see what your closet is missing and […]

5 Statement Shoes You’ll Need For Spring!

Are you ready for spring? We sure are. As soon as the temperatures start to rise (which we hope will be soon), the time will come to swap ankle boots for loafers and ditch the Uggs for sandals. Footwear is anything but boring this spring. With the warmer weather on the way, flat feet shoes will be all the rage. The growing obsession for athleisure, has completely changed how we view trainers; no longer are they reserved for workouts or casual days. With the continuation of the 70’s trend, wedges and blocked heels are bright and beautiful. Moreover spring footwear is leaning towards comfort. Commuting to work in the warmer months needn’t be a painful affair of navigating through public transport in stiletto sandals. Yay! Here’s our top 5 footwear picks for the season ahead. With Kendall Jenner sporting her white sneakers on a nigh out and Victoria Beckham pairing hers with tailored trousers, the options on how to wear your white trainers are now endless.  Michael Kors shoes, £130 available at Daniel Footwear.     We love a good wedge. Always a spring favourite, pair with a floral dress for a fab weekend look. Priya Navy Leather Espadrille Wedges, £165 available at LK Bennett     Laced up pointy heels, admittedly can be difficult to style. But with a great pair of skinny jeans,  a simple white tee and a blue blazer and you’re good to go. Lace Up Pointed Heels, £35 available at ASOS No footwear collection is complete without a pair of tanned loafers. Ideal for work, wear with tailored trousers and your fave blouse.  Tan Flat Loafer Shoes, £65, £39 available at Kurt Geiger   Bang on trend, these jungle print beauties are as cute as they chic. But don’t keep them hidden away wondering what to wear them […]

Floral Print Suit For Spring? Yes, Please!

Before you say it, we know we’re in the middle of winter. Temperatures have seriously plummeted and snow has finally graced us with it’s presence. But, that doesn’t have to stop us from dreaming of all the lovely outfits spring holds in store for us, which of course includes florals.  Florals are as committed to spring as the super cute David Beckham is to our beloved Victoria, therefore each season designers must look for creative and wonderful ways to rework the much loved print. Our fave interpretation so far has got to be Jenny Packham’s 70’s inspired floral suits. Drawing inspiration from two legendary icons – Nick Cave and Patti Smith, Packham’s floral suits are bang on trend, as our obsession with all things 70’s is set to continue right on into SS16. Yay or Nay? [Images]

Spring trend we love? Fringe!

Nothing says wild urban warrior quite as good as a little fringe, and boy, do we love us some fringe. Thankfully, fringe is a huge trend this spring and summer season, with new, amazing ways to wear it inspiring us everyday from our favorite designers. Fringe is a great style because you can work with it on basically any fashion item, from shoes, to shirts, to bags, to skirts, and in many different materials. Typically, fringe was made in brown leather, which gives it a natural, earthy vibe. While we still love to rock our inner 60s hippie every once in a while, trying out a new look, like this Pink Lamely Skirt from Roksanda Ilincic at Moda Operandi, which features multicoloured layers, is a great twist on the fringe trend. This skirt in particular made a huge hit at Fashion Week, and while it may be out of many of our price ranges at a stunning £3,294, there are tons of more affordable options that can get you a similar look like this Leather Fringe Skirt from Intermix. 5 spring & summer 2015 handbags we’re lusting after!

Fashion month is well and truly over, and the spring/summer 2015 trends that the celebs will no doubt be rocking imminently have all made their way down the respective New York, London, Milan and Paris catwalks. The A-listers may be the first to step out in the new-season pieces, but we already have our favourites which we ourselves are one day hoping to be the proud owners of. Designer handbags have been particularly strong this season, and we definitely think that our first SS15 purchase is going to be for something small, leathery, and tote-ally gorgeous. Sorry, we couldn’t help ourselves… Here’s our top 5 SS15 handbags. Enjoy! Gucci. Gucci bags are iconic for a reason; if you want a handbag that’s instantly recognisable, a bag that will serve you well for decades to come, then this one answers all your prayers. We love the trans-seasonal brown colour and the fact that it’ll go with pretty much every outfit you can think of, but the strap that comes in the classic red and green Gucci stripe is the cherry on top that seals the deal for us. Give it to us now! Burberry. The brand never fails to disappoint when it comes to new and innovative lust-worthy designs, and the Burberry Bee bag is no exception. Cute, bright, practical… everything we want in a spring/summer bag and so much more! It comes in many cute and quirky colour combos, but there’s something about the feminine pink and yellow version that speaks – nay, screams – to us more than the rest. Coach. Coach was one of the first brands to debut its SS15 collection, and the memory of its bags stayed with us for the entirety of Fashion Month. Although we drooled over many of its bags – the classic […]

AW14 Jewellery Report: Spring Fair & LFW

Jewellery has immersed itself as an indispensable part of fashion; gone is the divide between costume jewellery and fine jewellery. More specifically, since the rise of the elaborate bib necklace and body jewellery, accessories are longer a decorative afterthought but a key feature of any outfit. This was all unquestionably apparent at the most recent Spring Fair trade show at the NEC back in February and also at London Fashion Week AW/14. Today, no outfit is complete without the perfect piece of jewellery and this has been no secret at recent trade exhibitions. But whilst on one hand we have bold and daring left-field designers such as KTZ adorning their catwalk models in shameless trimmings, we also have some tenacious classics creeping back in. Statement Pieces: KTZ, Simone Rocha & Jane Bowler At LFW, KTZ certainly made its mark with its powerful and authoritative accessories, along with Simone Rocha’s unashamed applications of large, gold adornments. Jane Bowler, who unveiled her collection at the London Fashion Week designer showrooms, addressed the audience with a new concept of how jewellery and garment design could merge into one discipline, using accessories to replace garments. Newcomer, Nadia Dafri made an impression at the February Spring Fair fashion show with a flamboyant and intimidating colourful collection which is sure to set light to the fashion scene. Or for something more accessible, Sarah Angold’s Topshop collection released to the public with a bang last year, featuring some eye catching and uber contemporary acrylic pieces. Floral Flutters for AW14 Surprisingly, florals have found a solid platform in AW14 designer collections. As a trend which flickers in and out of the limelight with fabrics, floral designs have never had much credence in the accessory design world. Floral prints, which can easily be dismissed as ‘juvenile’, ‘twee’ or ‘girly’, […]

2 ways to wear Warehouse’s lace spring coat

Living in Britain means that we have the age-old “coat or no coat” dilemma to deal with. It’s too warm to wear a bulky coat, but too cold to leave the house without anything to wrap up in. Plus, we want to make the most of the spring trends while we can so where does that leave us? We’ve found the answer, and it comes courtesy of this pale blue Warehouse lace coat. It looks like it came straight off a designer runway (the Burberry one if we’re being specific) but it costs a very purse-friendly £100. A real investment seeing as there are so any ways to wear it. Here are just two: Option 1 Whistles Lulu dress, £195 || Pollini patent leather pumps, £425 Option 2 L.K. Bennett white dress, £199 || New Look white pointed heels, £17.99 || Miss Selfridge chunky blue flower necklace, £25

Michelle Williams returns for Louis Vuitton’s spring/summer 2014 ad campaign

Looks like Louis Vuitton knows when it’s onto a good thing, as Michelle Williams is back for another ad campaign! The gorgeous 33-year-old actress – and her enviably long stems and super-chic blonde pixie cut – are back for the Louis Vuitton spring/summer 2014 advertising campaign, and the message is pretty clear: go bright, or go home! (Actually you don’t have to go home if you aren’t feeling the brights, as Michelle has demonstrated that an understated  shade paired with simple jeans and a tee is a pretty killer combo too!) Michelle was photographed by Peter Lindbergh and styled by former Vogue Paris editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld, and is showcasing some of the new additions to the Louis Vuitton handbag family, as well as the true classics, including the Lockit, the Capucines and the Alma. Although the bags are the clear stars of the campaign images, we have to give the props some appreciation too – we love how Michelle has shunned the ordinary chair and decided to rest on a bicycle and inside an LV trunk instead. That’s our girl! Click here to check out Michelle’s ad campaign for the Louis Vuitton autumn/winter 2013 collection, too.

First look: Suki Waterhouse’s Superga spring/summer 2014 ads

Suki Waterhouse’s debut ads for Italian trainer brand Superga are finally here, and she’s looking even more gorgeous than we could have ever expected. The 22-year-old style maven – and girlfriend to one very dreamy Bradley Cooper, may we add – is posing pretty in some of the brand’s finest trainers for the spring/summer 2014 ad campaign, which is based on Sprezzatura. Those not fluent in Italian may be unfamiliar with the term, but Sprezzatura is basically the art of looking good without actually trying; and we think Suki has that down to a tee! “Sprezzatura encompasses a certain nonchalance; an effortlessly casual grace that Italian fashion does best,” reads the press release. “Easily described as an artful dishevelment, the style needs not boast the thought and concept that has created an outfit, instead lending a modern interpretation to a timeless notion.” Once again, we reckon that’s Suki Waterhouse in a nutshell. We couldn’t think of a more perfect ad campaign star; do you love her debut ads as much as we do? Let us know your thoughts below!

Victoria Beckham does springtime simplicity

What does one of the most stylish women in the world and one of the biggest fashion designers on the planet wear while going about her day to day business in London? A simple silk t-shirt and some powder blue Chloe Resort 2014 trousers, of course. Victoria Beckham is used to getting dressed up in skin-tight pencil skirts and dresses, but she’s also capable of donning more relaxed styles too. And we think this might just be as “relaxed” as it gets for the former Spice Girl. You probably won’t catch her in tracksuit bottoms and Ugg boots anytime soon, but the simplicity of this casual outfit works wonders, especially as the colour palette screams “springtime”. And in case you’re wondering… VB is in our fine Capital checking out the progress of her Dover Street store; not long to go ’til it opens! [Image]

Kate Hudson is spring-ready in Emilio Pucci

Spring is coming! At least Kate Hudson wants us to believe it is… and we’re definitely ok with that! Kate Hudson looked positively glowing as she attended the BVLGARI Presents ‘Decades of Glamour’ party hosted by Naomi Watts in West Hollywood yesterday, and chose the perfect outfit and colour combo to offset her enviable golden tan. The actress (and face of Ann Taylor) wore an attention-grabbing plunging yellow blouse from the Emilio Pucci spring/summer 2014 collection, and accessorised with a matching white leather skirt, white pointy Christian Louboutin heels, and a dazzling clutch bag. The effortless, non-distracting up-do and the essential BVLGARI jewels completed her bold look perfectly! [Image]

Hunter has been a well respected brand for over 160 years, but we think the appointment of Alasdhair Willis (husband to one Stella McCartney, don’tcha know) as creative director is going to do even bigger and better things for it. Watch this space!
