Summer Jacket Time: Blazers

With the first rays of real sunlight creeping in my dusty window comes the faint but enchanting prospect that summer might be just around the corner. Whilst sandals and bikinis might not be quite on the cards, I will settle for the temperature creeping up just enough to cast off my winter coat and begin gallavanting about in a little summer jacket.

With every trip across the Channel to Paris, comes a trip to Sephora on the fashionable Champs Elysees!

I don’t know what it is about this beauty brand that draws me in and makes my heart beat a little faster. I mean, living in London I should be more than satisfied with my choice of make-up brands.

I have Mac, Bobbi Brown and high street favourite, Barry M on my doorstep, but would rather buy in bulk on my yearly trips to Sephora than pop to Selfridges for a bright Mac lippy.

Just when we thought she had fallen off the fashion radar, styling it up big time for the opening of her new flick, Iron Man, Gwyneth Paltrow has never looked more glamorous. This A-list actress has been laying low over the past couple of years, being more mum than movie star, but in recent days, its clear that this once “it” girl has still got it in her.

Spring Style: Top Knots

lanvin_rodarte_010508.jpg
Unable to take the plunge and actually chop my hair, I have found a less permanent way to have a spring fling with my ‘do. When you are known for your scruffy ‘bird’s nest’ locks like I am, it is amazing the difference it makes when you scrape your hair off your face into a neat top knot.

Scattered all over the S/S runways from Lanvin to Rodarte, it is a severe look which contrasts beautifully with all that femininity and flowers for Spring.

I Dream of Dresses: Dream and Awake

I like my dresses with a story. Finding them, mainly, in charity shops means that I have to make them up. They become the little characters that live in my wardobe (i’m not crazy, I promise). Which is why I was so excited to stumble upon Dream and Awake, a little collective of girls who remake found vintage dresses like prescious treasures with a secret history.
