Beyonce Knowles’ latest fashion range will be aimed at schoolgirls.

The ‘Crazy in Love’ singer has teamed up with her mother Tina Knowles to launch Sasha Fierce for Dereon, which will include shoes, glasses, lingerie, sportswear and jewellery.

Tina will create the clothing and accessories but she insists Beyonce will be very involved with the designs.

She explained to WWD: “She definitely tells me what she likes and what she doesn’t. It was her suggestion to line the rips of the jeans with the mesh and lace. It makes the jeans look really different from what’s out there.”

The US designer denied reports she is planning to quit the fashion industry after her September show, insisting she intends to work until she is unable to do so.

She told People magazine: “I will never retire while I’ve still got my legs and my make-up box.”

A statement from the Betsey Johnson fashion house added: “With rich history and significant opportunities for future growth, Betsey Johnson wants her brand to live on forever. It is only wise that key management and talent is put in place to secure the continued health of the company for the future. Betsey Johnson will continue to provide creative inspiration and leadership as long as she is with us.”

Mischa Barton’s style is “rock ‘n’ roll natural”.

The former ‘O.C.’ actress hates wearing too much make-up, but feels barefaced unless her eyes are outlined with liner.

She explained: “I’d describe my look as natural with a rock ‘n’ roll edge. I’m low-maintenance, but with eye make-up! I use tons of Chanel black eyeliner and always have it on me. I’m pretty used to doing a smokey eye on myself using Yves Saint Laurent eyeshadows in shimmery black and blue.”

A bizarre thing has happened. London’s famous shopping hub Oxford Street are putting on the first ever High Street Fashion Week.

Beginning just before London Fashion Week this September, our favourite high street shops will be showing their fall collections during the dates of the all new Oxford Street Fashion Week. 

Drapers have reported that many retailers are also said to be taking part in a launch to the event, which is likely to be in the form of a catwalk, promoting key high street trends for the season.

Supermodel Karen Mulder has been arrested for making “threatening” phone calls to a plastic surgeon.

The 39-year-old star was questioned at a Paris police station after calling the medic and reportedly demanding for a previous operation to be reversed.

A detective said:

“She was screaming and shouting about the operation and became extremely threatening. There were repeated calls to the female surgeon who was extremely scared. The suspect is being interviewed.”

Karen was arrested at about 10am yesterday and taken to a station in the fashion district of the French capital city. Another police source has claimed the model had been “stalking and making repeated violent telephone threats” to the surgeon.

Lily Allen is jealous of Kate Moss.

The ‘Fear’ singer is envious of her supermodel friend’s “massive” and “amazing” clothing collection.

She said: “Do Kate and I talk about fashion? No, not all the time. She has the most amazing wardrobe though. It’s massive! Have you seen her wardrobe? She has rooms just dedicated to clothes.”

Despite her fascination with fashion and designer labels, Lily - who designed a sell-out line for British high street store New Look in 2007 - says she has no plans to collaborate with the 35-year-old model on a clothing range.

Referring to Kate’s Topshop line, Lily told Britain’s More magazine: “We won’t do a fashion line together. I think she does very well on her own. I’m doing a jewellery range this year though and I’ve done some modelling for someone but I can’t tell you who. It’s very, very good though.

The ‘SexyBack’ singer - who launched his William Rast clothing line in London store Selfridges on Monday isn’t a fan of ladies wearing loose, casual clothing and prefers a smarter look.

He said: “The women in Los Angeles dress like boys. Here in London, you see a lot more of that tailored, sharp look that New York women have.”
