Beyonce’s fabulous fashion comeback

Hello, who is this hot honey blonde we see? Why, it’s only Beyonce! Despite the odd appearance at a basketball game, Beyonce’s largely steered clear of the spotlight for some time, but we for one are super pleased to see she’s back and looking better than ever. Showing off her newly blonde locks, she left restaurant L’Avenue at the Meurice Hotel in Paris with husband Jay-Z last week looking utterly fabulous. We love her sexy draped printed dress complete with waist cinching black sash and matching crock handbag. She chose gold sandals that perfectly complimented her honey coloured skin and the metallic flashes in the dress – and, of course, no celeb outfit is complete with the obligatory pair of sunglasses. And judging by the size of that rock on her left hand, things are still go swimmingly with her hunky hubby. Good to have you back, B! [poll id=”95″]

Abercrombie to sue Beyonce over planned fragrance

A few days ago we reported that Beyonce had made plans to collaborate with Coty to produce a new perfume named after her stage alter-ego Sasha Fierce. Unfortunately, it seems the songstress’ plans have already been scuppered as Abercrombie and Fitch have revealed their intention to sue, claiming that they have owned the ‘Fierce’ Trademark since 2002 with a men’s fragrance sold under the same name.

Beyonce succumbs to the celebrity fragrance

Jennifer Lopez, Avril Lavigne, Christina Aguilera, Sarah Jessica Parker, Mariah Carey, Alex Curran. These ladies all have one thing in common, despite the fact that the mention of Alex Curran within this list of high profile celebs seems slightly wrong. Yes, they have all put their names to fragrances of course, and WWD have just revealed that Beyonce will be the next star to release her own scent. The popstar – who often refers to her stage alter ego, Sasha Fierce – teamed up with Coty, the company responsible for the celebrity fragrance launch that started the craze back in 2002: JLo’s Glow. While many assumed that the singer would follow in the footsteps of husband Jay-Z and sign a deal with Parlux Fragrances inc. Beyonce revealed that she didn’t rush into accepting a fragrance company to collaborate with: ‘For me, fragrance reflects a woman’s attitude and unique sense of style… while I love various perfumes, I haven’t found a scent that truly personifies me as a woman. Working with Coty I was able to turn my ideal fragrance into a reality by creating an alluring and sophisticated fragrance; one that’s refelective of my inner power.’ Beyonce’s timing however, is not the best, for NPD group have estimated that the average celebrity fragrance only generated around $2.5 million in 2008. Now, that definitely doesn’t sound like a profit to turn your nose up at but it is worth considering that sales have dropped dramatically since celebrity perfumes first hit the shelves. JLo must have been rubbing her hands in glee when Glow was launched, making $100 million worldwide in its first year! So. Another year, another celebrity fragrance. We love Beyonce, but we’re not sure what to make of this. We think we’ll reserve judgement until we can get a whiff… thoughts? Beyonce’s perfume is set […]

Beyonce becomes Boudicca

What does a female Celtic warrior and Beyonce have in common? A killer wardrobe of course. In Boudicca’s case this was literal. But for Beyonce it’s all about her show costumes. They have been exclusively designed by Thierry Mugler and are said to represent “the duality between being a woman and a warrior. For the songstress’ new world tour a line of rather dramatic costumes have been created. The outfits are meant to symbolise Beyonce’s tough yet chic edge, that is both empowering and awe inspiring. But it would seem Beyonce won’t just be playing one role, according to Mugler ‘there will be a lot of dramatization and metamorphosis on stage.

Style surprise of the week goes to Beyonce and her scary metal glove

Critics seem to be split on the new material from Beyonce. But then the concept album ‘I am … Sasha Fierce’, is a pretty bold move. Creating and naming a stage alter-ego and then dressing the part too is akin to proclaiming your super star status by saying, ‘it worked for the greats such as David Bowie and Prince, it can work for me too’. Or is it just a form of artistic expression that should be applauded?

Polls: Beyonce’s Grammy Look

Why is Beyonce always hit or miss with her red carpet looks? She seems to inevitably show up in the sparkliest and tightest, over-the-top gowns she can get her hands on. Her look for the Grammys last night fit that gaudy mold to a tee. The glue-on glittery blue chiffon explosion made me cringe a little and had me wondering when she’s going to start wearing more classic couture, instead of costumey getups off stage. With years of experience at award shows and a design label (a la

I’m very much a perfectionist, and even before I was a pop star, or celebrity or whatever you want to call whatever I am, I was always that way. Top 50 Fashion Designers In The World

Ever wondered who the top 50 fashion designers in the world are? Well, wonder no more. We’ve put together a list most famous fashion designers from around the globe. From past icons to current trailblazers who are setting the trends right now, here’s a comprehensive deep dive into the best fashion designers without whom the fashion industry just wouldn’t be the same. 1. Coco Chanel If there’s one iconic fashion designer who’s influenced the industry more than any other, it’s definitely Coco Chanel. She brought something new to the table, freeing women from the restrictions of frills and corsets, instead offering up simple, comfortable styles. And today, more than 50 years after her passing, her influence is still felt. Coco Chanel’s early life wasn’t an easy one, marked by tragedy and hardship. Her mother passed away when she was young, and she and her siblings had to be raised at an orphanage. Despite everything, Chanel was determined to make a name for herself in the world. Her designs stood out from the crowd, effortless and refined. She transformed fabrics that were traditionally associated with men’s clothing, like tweed and jersey, into chic, comfy pieces for women. The late designer will always be remembered for her creation of the little black dress, which is still a wardrobe staple for many. Chanel also branched out into the fragrance industry, launching her famous Chanel No. 5 perfume in 1921. She was a trendsetter in more ways than one, using groundbreaking marketing techniques to promote her work. And even now, you can spot her signature CC logo anywhere. 2. Giorgio Armani Giorgio Armani is a name that screams luxury and style, and this Italian designer has been a prominent figure in fashion since the 70s. Born in Piacenza, Italy, in 1934, Armani initially studied […]

5 Tips To Find The Perfect Eyebrow Shape For Your Face

Everyone knows that perfectly arched eyebrows are the way to go for a polished look, but finding the perfect shape for your specific face can feel like an impossible mission! Don’t worry – we’ve got you covered! We’ve got five incredible tips for finding out exactly what eyebrow shape will accentuate and bring balance to your features. Whether you’re looking for something bold, subtle, or somewhere in between, these simple steps will help you achieve your perfect look. 1. Know What Brow Shape for Your Face Type Take a good look at your face in the mirror. Identify the basic proportions of your facial structure—such as its width, length, and symmetry—as this will give you an idea of what kind of eyebrows will suit you best. Heart-Shaped Face Heart-shaped faces are beautiful and unique, but it can be tricky to find the natural eyebrow shape to flatter their distinct features. To bring out your heart-shaped face’s natural beauty, look no further than the soft arch. This eyebrow shape is ideal for highlighting your facial features and helping to soften any pointed angles. For an extra touch, go with a fuller eyebrow that embraces the length of your brow bone and balances the shape of your face – although be careful not to overdo it! Precision goes a long way when choosing the perfect eyebrow shape for anyone with a heart-shaped face like Naomi Campbell. Round Face When it comes to round faces, Chrissy Teigen and Cameron Diaz are the obvious candidates to look to for brow inspiration. No matter who you’re channelling, a sharp and high arch should be your goal when shaping perfect eyebrows for a round face. Design that arch as high as you can – maybe even higher than you think – without looking too harsh or […]

Match or Clash: Choosing a Color Palette for Your Outfit and Accessories

While we all love the idea of a color-coordinated capsule closet that follows the perfect palette with no compromise, we all love colors outside of our chosen palette and we should be able to easily embrace them! Because we all have color preferences that fall outside of any given palette, we recommend that instead of creating a color-coordinated capsule closet, that you have fun and show off your fashion skills by learning how to integrate any color you’re loving on at the moment into any outfit by making per-outfit palettes around them. You may have just bought some colorful and cute sandals for women in anticipation of summer or you may have a pretty new green blouse for a garden party. But if you want to make sure that you do them justice and avoid a jarring clash of colors, we’re here to show you how it’s done! Categorizing Colors  Building your outfit on a category of colors will help guide you through your closet and will be the best way to avoid a clash. Always consider starting off with a category that covers a wide range of colors like cool tones, warm tones, jewel tones, pastels or brights! Once you’ve found a compelling category, picking specific colors and shades within it will depend on what you’re dressing for and sometimes even where or what they will be used for within the ensemble. (For instance, as a base color or as an accent color — but we’ll get into that next!) No matter what, picking your palette should be easier after this step! Pick the Base Color(s) of Your Outfit Your base colors will normally be neutrals, and will normally coincide with the colors that you choose when you’re buying essentials. These are colors that transcend trends, seasons and time […]

How Athleisure Has Taken The Fashion Industry By Storm

Winter is creeping up on us fast. Soon we will blink and it will be Christmas. With most of us stuck inside, and the weather getting colder, there is nothing better than putting on a nice pair of ‘trackies’ to snuggle up on the couch. Of course, traditionally tracksuits, yoga pants, sports bras and the like are traditionally known for their use for exercising. Nowadays, more people are shopping for comfort and fit, and so are turning to athleisure for their daily clothes. With this trend has come a massive development in the styles and designs of athleisure wear, and even a design challenge on Project Runway dedicated to it! If its good enough for Heidi Klum and Karlie Kloss then its good enough for us. What is ‘athleisure wear’?  Athleisure is simply the combination of ‘athletic’ and ‘leisure’. In other words, it is fashionable athletic wear that can be worn day to day. Athleisure wear includes sweatpants, hoodies, gym tanks, tracksuits for women and men, sports bras, trainers, and much more.  It’s true that the demand for athleisure has soared in the age of COVID-19, with more and more people flocking to online stores to secure the latest and greatest in stylish, comfortable clothes. With nowhere to go but the kitchen, front room, bathroom or bedroom, what else would you wear except the likes of stretchy trousers and a cosy jumper? What makes it fashionable? Athleisure bridges the gap between functional active wear, and fashionable clothes made to fit well and be comfortable. And, lets be honest, who doesn’t want to be able to wear the trendiest and most comfortable clothes? As it is based on active wear, it is often wrinkle-free, stretchy, odour resistant, and more durable. And as more people turn to athleisure for their casual social […]

The Most Extravagant Engagement Rings Ever

Sometimes, when presenting a ring that will propel you and your partner into a new life together, you don’t just want to give them a symbol. You want to give then a monument. You want to give them the kind of ring that can be seen from space. Now, you could take a look at Tacori, who knows how to do extravagant very well. But first, take a look at these majestic designs and the hands they have graced. Victoria Beckham “Posh” Beckham has certainly lived up to her nickname. When David proposed, he did so with over ten rings, the most prominent being a 3-carat marquise cut diamond on a yellow gold band with a cost of $85,000 (£60,000).  Beyonce Beyonce’s marriage proposal was a musical powerhouse with Jay-Z proposing with an 18-carat, emerald cut diamond solitaire ring, with a value estimate of $5 million. Mariah Carey Though the wedding may have been called off, that didn’t stop the proposal from being a sparkling one, with James Packer presenting Mariah Carey a 35-carat, emerald cut diamond ring that cost $10 million, standing tall as the most expensive engagement ring in recorded history. Kim Kardashian West Kanye West wanted it to be a celebration to remember for his future bride. Do’s and Don’ts Of Surviving A Music Festival

If you haven’t noticed, music festivals are on the upswing, with more and more music fans attending big festivals each year. Case in point: Despite headliners like Beck and Morrissey, the inaugural Coachella in 1999 played host to only 10,000 curious concert-goers, while more than 100,000 showed up last year (thanks in part to Beyoncé). But, at least since the days of Woodstock, there’s always been an unspoken code among serious festival-goers, and etiquette is a surprisingly big consideration on the fest circuit. While there’s a lot here to remember, always prioritize the biggest do: have fun! Here’s what else you need to know as you’re festin’ it up this summer. The Do’s Pace Yourself: Most music festival lineups are set up so that the big headliners play at the end of the day or in the evening, say between 6 and 10 p.m., with smaller acts beginning to hit their stages around noon or 1 p.m. That means that you could have as many as 10 hours to hang out on the festival grounds each day. Pace yourself if you want to see it all and be sure to take it extra slow if you plan to drink. Keep Track of Your Stuff: People lose track of their stuff constantly at these big events and getting things back can be difficult. Where possible, turn everything into an accessory. Examples: wear your vape on a chain (or, better yet, take one that’s made to be worn); put your sunglasses on a lanyard; clip your keys to your belt loop; get one of those thigh holsters for your phone. Get creative! Wear the Right Clothes: Nothing will harsh your mellow faster than a particularly annoying blister or a shirt that won’t dry, especially when you’re stuck with the same clothes and […]

How To Shop The End-Of-Season Sales Like A Fashion Insider

Yay! The end-of-season sales are nearly upon us. And with up to 70%,  this is hands down, one of the best times to acquire serious bargains. Thankfully these days the bulk of online shopping can be accomplished online, however there are still some handy sales tips that still apply and should be observed to ensure you get the most bang for your buck. Here’s our must-have guide to shopping the winter sales. 1. Research: List your fave stores and do a little digging to find out when their sales start and end. Knowing when your favourite stores are on sale is key to never missing out. Stay in the loop by following their social media feeds and signing up for alerts. 2. Wishlist:  Avoid the temptation of snapping up that Dolce & Gabbana dress that you’ll never wear, just because it’s 60% off. Conduct an in-depth wardrobe analysis, list every single piece you’ll need to complete and create new outfits.  Seek inspiration from your favourite streetstyle blogs and magazines and be very precise and concise. Shopping the sales with a clear idea of exactly what you want will make your life so much easier and will definitely save you tons of cash. 3. Opt for timeless pieces: Why are the end-of-season sales so popular? It’s the one time of year when designer pieces are heavily discounted. Take advantage and update your wardrobe with more classic, quality clothing and accessories guaranteed to last for seasons to come like a tailored coat for example, knee high boots or this great watch at WozNow. Avoid trend-led clothing, especially prints, as chances are the coveted trend is done and dusted and you’ll find yourself stuck with a pair of trousers or a top that will only see the light of day once. 4. Don’t settle: Ask yourself a series of essentials questions before hitting […]

Finding The Right Glasses For Your Face

Shopping for clothes is tough, shopping for glasses is tougher. This is because our faces are the most unique parts of us. Think about how many other people you know who are the same height or body type as you, or have the same foot size. We choose the length of leg or width of waist when buying jeans, and shoes come in helpful sizes and even half sizes. So why then is it so much harder with glasses and sunglasses? Why are there no sizes or precise criteria for us to follow? And it’s worse, because glasses can either work with our features or against them in a way clothes usually don’t. And the stakes are even higher with glasses — especially if you wear them every day. Well this guide looks to demystify glasses and how to choose the right pair for your face shape and size. It’s been written with the help and insight of Red Hot Sunglasses, who are experts in all things glasses and sunglasses. Face size First of all, it’s important to work out whether or not you have a large face or a small face. This can be trickier than it sounds as it can be arbitrary as to what constitutes a small or large face, and especially hard if you think you might actually be somewhere in the middle. Small face If you don’t know if you have a small face, compare yourself to these celebrities: Women: Kristen Stewart, Sarah Hyland, Reece Witherspoon Men: Colin Farrell, Jude Law, Leonardo DiCaprio If your face is small and you’re a woman, then the best advice is to opt for large or oversized glasses and sunglasses as the big, chunkier frames will actually emphasise your more feminine, softer features. Other great styles include cat eye […]

Outfit Inspiration: How To Wear Coloured Trousers?

Printed trousers are out. Coloured trouser are in. That seems to be the general consensus this summer. Remember when floral print trousers were seen everywhere and anywhere last season? Well it appears that our love for loose fitting trousers still remains (they’re a godsend when the weather is hot & humid) but this time we’re ditching the prints in favour of bright hues. How to wear coloured trousers? Team with a white shirt and a blazer for the perfect ensemble as seen on Beyoncé while out and about in New York last month and most recently on Kate Moss who teamed her white Vinyl t-shirt with a black blazer at the launch of the Bella Freud x Cutler and Gross collection earlier this week. And yes, you know once Bey and Kate stamp their seal of approval, there’s no need for further debate – we predict coloured trousers will be a HUGE trend this season. Our top tip? While we do love pink and yellow, stay ahead of the fash pack and experiment with other colours too. Emerald green or a bold blue perhaps? See below for our faves..

The fash pack came out to play last night at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City for The CFDA Awards (fashion’s equivalent of the Oscars). Naturally all of this season’s signature trends made an appearance on the red carpet – namely off-the-shoulder, slip dresses, cut-outs and glam-goth. And while there weren’t too many jaw dropping looks to choose from and quite a few fails (we couldn’t really quite get our heads around Ciara’s choice of outfit), there were some who made the best dressed cut…. Athleisure Capsule Wardrobe: Top 5 Must-Have Buys

Athleisure – the art of wearing fitness gear as part of your day to day wardrobe –  is here to stay for the foreseeable future. It’s a fact that was recently cemented when model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley stepped out in Chloé tracksuit bottoms paired with heeled sandals. And we’re not complaining at all. Any trend that gives us permission to ditch our stilettos for a pair of comfy white trainers worn to the office is just fine by us. With tons of activewear brands coming into existence,  clothing that we’d otherwise have worn solely for a workout are becoming more and more affordable. So with this in mind, we feel the time has come to curate an “athleisure” capsule wardrobe filled with the essentials that’ll transition effortlessly from the gym to off-duty.  1. Yoga pants – Kanye recently declared, “I like t-shirts and women in Yoga Pants……I live in L.A that’s what people wear.” No doubt it’s a trend that’s bound to get bigger on this side of the pond especially as they’re so unbelievably comfortable. 2. Hoodie – When it’s too chilly for just a t-shirt, but not cold enough to throw on a biker jacket, layer up with a hoodie. We’re seriously crushing on this oversized hoodie from none other than Beyonce’s new line Ivy Park. 3. Trainers – Functional yet stylish is the name of the game when buying a pair of trainers, not only do they need to go the distance when pounding the treadmill but making a statement with a pair of jeans is a must. With all black trainers set to rival their white counterparts, Mastershoe have a fab pair of bang on trend Skechers. 4. Tracksuit bottoms –  Set to be a wardrobe staple, there’s no need to pull a “Rosie Huntington-Whiteley” and splurge over £700 on a cute pair of Chloé tracksuit bottoms. Adidas have great […]

Where Do Fashion Wholesalers Get Their Inspiration From?

Fashion wholesalers must concentrate their attention on a range of different outlets in order to gain inspiration and to keep on top of the trends to give the customers what they want. Fashion is a very fast business and trends and styles can change rapidly, depending on both the seasons and customer demands. Fashion powerhouse Zara, for example, only produces half of its seasonal stock and leaves room to respond to the market. Not all trends will necessarily catch on in retail and wholesale industries and often the client will want more of something or less of something else. Other trends can be incredibly popular and stick around for more than one season. This is something that wholesale fashion suppliers must think about when getting ahead in the fashion industry. Fashion can be a tricky business and requires a strong attention to detail, especially when producing women’s wholesale fashion. There can be strong influences from a variety of different places that can inspire and push wholesalers in a certain direction, and here are just a few. Fashion Shows Possibly the most obvious point of call for anyone working in fashion when it comes to inspiration is the catwalk. Designers across the world showcase their designs and upcoming trends with hundreds of models in fashion shows from Paris to New York, for both summer and winter collections. This could be one of the biggest influences for fashion wholesalers and definitely worth taking note. Fashion Weeks occur in New York, London, Milan and Paris twice a year, showcasing Autumn/Winter trends and designs around February, and Spring/Summer around September ready for the seasons ahead. This would surely be the Mecca for fashion enthusiasts as high-end designers define the latest developments in fashion months before they are due to hit the shelves. On top […]

Infographic: Infamous Statement Heels

Remember when Naomi Campbell took a tumble in those ridiculously high platforms while strutting down the catwalk for Vivienne Westwood? We can’t forget either. It literally made the headlines. But our dear Naomi took it all in her stride and we loved her even more. However, the striking supermodel isn’t the only celebrity who’s had to deal with a killer heel or two. Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Victoria Beckham, just to name a few, are masters at making it look incredibly easy to pull off heels that we wouldn’t even dare contemplate wearing. The fabulous folks over at Shoetique have created a pretty cool infographic highlighting the most infamous statement heels of all time and the celebrities who’ve taken on the challenge. Check it out below.

Our 10 Best Dressed at the Met Gala 2015

Anyone else disappointed with the red carpet at this year’s Met Gala? We’re not sure if we just had really high expectations but we can’t say we were floored by any of the outfits. Celebrating the start of the exhibition which runs from 7th May to 16th August, and showcases the work of 40 designers inspired by Chinese culture and art, the theme was China: Through the Looking Glass. In theory, with the prospect of East meeting West, this should have been a great opportunity for the celebs to go all out with the fun and drama. But, sadly no. The majority played it safe or nude. As we’ve seen in previous years, there’s a fine line between fashion forward and tacky, and this year while their bodies were to die for, Beyoncé and JLo pretty much pushed the sheer envelope way beyond the line. Kim K on the other hand managed to get it just right in Peter Dundas’ first creation for Roberto Cavalli while Rihanna was effortlessly on theme in a stunning handmade gown (which took 2 years to make) by Guo Pei. At this point, we’d like to draw your attention to someone who in our opinion is a major style icon in the making – Zendaya. The young starlet was absolutely flawless in Fausto Puglisi and we predict big things to come from the gorgeous actress and singer. On that note, here’s our 10 best dressed Xin Lei in Alexander McQueenRosie Huntington-Whiteley in VersaceRihanna in Guo Pei Poppy Delevingne in Marchesa Kim Kardashian in Roberto Cavalli Kendall Jenner in Calvin Klein Kate Hudson in Michael Kors Karolina Kurkova in custom Tommy Hilfiger Jessica Hart in Valentino Zendaya in Fausto Puglisi

10 Amazing Celebrity Cars

Something all good celebrities keep in mind is that if you’re earning mega-bucks, it’s important to spend it well. That doesn’t mean on fine wine or strategic offshore investments. People, fans, want to see their heroes blowing their money in spectacular fashion. And one of the most popular ways to do that is on cars. Even if, like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, they have a large brood of kids, you can be sure that whatever people carrier they drive is going to be thoroughly pimped. Here are 10 of the very best celebrity motors… Chris Evans The carrot-topped radio presenter famously scored a fortune when he sold his production company, and went on to blow a lot of it in the best way possible – in the pub with his mates, and on wooing the lovely Billie Piper. But Evans is also a renowned car lover and he has several enviable vehicles in his collection, including a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO he reportedly bought at auction for an amount in the region of… hold your breath, £12 million. David Beckham Another Brit doing us all proud is Golden Balls himself. While us mere mortals head to Tyre-Shopper to pimp out of cars, before he sold it, his Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead was customised with a completely black exterior, including the Spirit of Ecstasy. The interior was tricked out with white leather, supposedly embroidered with his former Real Madrid shirt number, 23, and gorgeous teak decking. A top-of-the-range multimedia system was installed to keep the kids entertained, and beneath the hood, a 453HP V12 engine with 6 speed automatic transmission. So, not exactly a Focus! Jerry Seinfeld Estimates vary on how many Porsches Seinfeld has in his huge car collection, but the general consensus seems to be at least 40, possibly […]

Sponsored post: Reebok’s inspiring “Be more human” campaign

Let’s face it, getting fit is no easy feat. Every day we wake up with the goal of getting a toned bod just in time for summer, in fact we started 2015 off like most with the resolution that’d we kick ourselves into gear. If Beyonce (who has the same 24 hours as us) can perform and shake her booty for hours on end without breaking into too much of a sweat, then surely we should be able to get into shape right? Yep, that’s what we told ourselves at the start of the year, but somehow life got in the way and our excuses started to roll in…”it’s too cold, we’re too tired….we’ll start tomorrow”. The truth is, there’s no excuse for not getting some exercise in at least once a week. Keeping fit is essential for a healthy lifestyle and should be a non-negotiable part of our weekly routine. Not only do we feel better about ourselves after a great workout but most importantly exercise keeps our mind, body and soul in balance. If like us, you’ve yourself fallen right back into your old routine of vegging out in front of the sofa then Reebok’s “Be more human” video featured above is a must watch. Launched with the aim to challenge and encourage us all to be the best version of ourselves physically, the motivational video is very inspiring and we must admit it left us feeling extremely motivated. Anything that gets us in “workout” mode receives a thumbs up from us and yes we’ll probably be watching this every day. This post has been sponsored by Reebok but concerns our own opinion.
