YSL Trib Two Boot: So Good They Named it Again!

by Nicky Branagh on September 1, 2008

Trib Two Boot

When Yves Saint Laurent graced our lives with the Tribute Mary Jane pump, it was as if all of our shoe prayers had been answered. As an avid Christian Louboutin fan, it pains me a little to say, but these were possibly some of the simplest, yet prettiest shoes to adorn the feet of the rich, famous (And let’s face it, down right lucky so and so’s).

Stack ‘Em High: AW08 Bracelets

by Danielle Eccleston on September 1, 2008

braceletsheader_010909One of my favourite things about autumn is the selection of jewelry. Away are the summer days of delicate, light pieces and onto our clunky, chunky favourites. Pairing any large sweater or blazer with stackable bracelets adds to life to any ensemble. Accessorizing correctly can really make an outfit shine and this season pull out all of your bangles and combine them to make the picture perfect accessory.

The beauty of stacking is that the bracelets don’t have to match.

Fashion geeks (sorry, make that aficionados) everywhere should aim to catch the short but snappy exhibition Fashion in the Mirror: Self Reflection in Fashion Photography on display until September 14th at the Photographers’ Gallery, Great Newport Street. So, can we expect similar great things from the designers; Edward Meadham and Benjamin Kirchhoff? Elle magazine certainly think so hailing them this month as ‘rising stars.’ There definitely seems to be a buzz surrounding the label, so what is all the fuss about?

Beauty: Nail-Back Painting

by Rebecca Laing on September 1, 2008

galliano_nails_010909As every woman knows, an outfit can be made or indeed broken by the tiniest detail, and a sure-fire way to ruin even the most jaw-droppingly gorgeous of ensembles is a shoddy manicure. A true fashionista would never be seen proudly parading her new Alexander McQueen Novak with uneven, unkempt and grubby nails - *shudder*.

My manicurist LuLu must cringe when I book my weekly appointment with her (although she’s far too polite to admit it) as I’m always creating beautiful yet time-consuming designs to match my outfits. A bit much? Maybe, but teaming a sky-high pair of Louboutin’s with co-ordinating nails - usually black on the front, red on the back - how unashamedly and uber glamorous.
