If you want your mane to look its best this summer, these warm weather tips and tricks should help. Hot Temperatures There are two big hair problems when it comes to summer heat: dryness and sweat. In areas that are really hot during the summer, your hair can get parched and breakage will begin. The experts at LumiBloom warn that even hair extensions can become brittle without proper care. They recommend that women with extensions keep their hair in a ponytail or single braid while in the sun and to wait until hair cools down before brushing. Sweat can also pose a problem. During the summer, when it’s scorching outside, sweat is inevitable. This can cause sticky buildup and weaken hair extensions. Beating the heat is largely a matter of gently styling, shampooing and conditioning hair: · Wash and rinse hair with lukewarm water rather than hot water. · Minimize the use of hot styling tools, including hair dryers. · Use moisturizing, sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. · Wash hair only once every 3-4 days (unless you got sweaty). We spoke with Ange and Vernice about everything from how to achieve healthy nails and their top tip for success… What’s your morning routine? Ange: I usually wake up quite early each morning as I’m excited to get going with the current project. After a quick look at the emails I’ll take about an hour for myself; I enjoy aromatherapy baths or showers as these allow me to have some peaceful time and space to think about my plans for the day and get into a positive frame of mind! Due to be released later this year, Kat’s recent project titled the Diamond Collection sees her partnering with actress, Sarah Jessica Parker, who not only acts as co-designer but is also the face of the campaign. Here, we get to know more about the Canadian born designer. What’s a typical working day like for you? My daily routine begins quite simply with my two dogs and a morning walk. Once the dogs are sorted I begin working with the gemstones – everything I do begins with the stones. I find such motivation and inspiration for my designs and the cut of the stones just by taking the time to fully engage/take in the color, shape, luster of each individual stone. Once I have a feeling for the stone I can begin to visualize how I want the gemstone to be set and be placed on a woman’s body. The vision is clear and the sketching can begin. What do you enjoy most about working with rare gems? I think I enjoy most that each one is so different, the color, the origin, the cut, the history – each stone has its own story which I find so inspiring. I am very lucky to have worked with the rarest gemstones in the world. A Review Of Longitude Festival 2015

One of the most popular festivals in Ireland, the Longitude Festival always puts together an amazing lineup of artists from music legends to modern performers. I checked out the festival when it ran this July, so I’ve put together a bit of a guide of what I saw and how it was for anyone thinking about heading there next year. The festival’s just a bit away from central Dublin, which is probably why they don’t have the room for tents and camping. I booked a cheap hotel room in the Travelodge Dublin Hotel Rathmines, just towards the south of the city, taking a bus down to the festival every day. Before I start off, I’d really say to make sure that you’re actually prepared for the day when you set off for the day. While you’ll be able to find most essentials at the festival, it’s as about as expensive as you might expect, with suncream coming at a real heavy price (I needed it, the festival gets pretty heated at times). I made the mistake of not being properly prepped at first. Thankfully, after a pretty costly first day I was able to find a shop just a while from my hotel, packing all the essentials and a few more pieces. The festival lasts for 3 great days every July, starting off on a Friday and carrying on through the weekend. It’s a pretty decently sized place so there’s 4 stages going on (though one’s just for dance, which I’m not really into as a thing to see at festivals) through the day. The Turquoise Coast has everything. It offers the chance to relax and soak up the sun; it is unlikely that during the main weeks of summer there will be a single cloud in the sky. A suntan is guaranteed and even though it will fade with time the memories of a holiday aboard a gullet or yacht sailing on these seas will last much longer, perhaps even forever? The sea offers the chance to swim, snorkel or dive while the region which sees mountains running down to the shoreline ensures that there are many settings that will rank amongst the best around. There is a chance to go back in time to the Lycians, famous for the rock tombs that abound in South West Turkey, the Romans and the Byzantines. Later there were Italians and Greeks though there is now a Turkish stamp on this wonderful coast. Simena Castle One great view actually out to sea is that from Simena Castle which is en route between Fethiye and Olympos. Simena is the old Lycian name and today’s Turkish name, ‘Kalekoy’ literally means ‘Castle Village’. The Castle is the biggest landmark but there are also a number of old sarcophagi on the hill and submerged under water; this is very much a place to visit coming by boat than road. The climb to the Castle is fairly strenuous it has to be said, but the views over the bay make the climb worth the effort. There is little in the way of artefacts nor is it easy to envisage the Castle in its prime because the external walls are all that remain, other than that view. We told you a few months ago that one of the most iconic supermodels of our time would be posing for one of the most iconic fragrances in the world – a match made in heaven – and now we have a very sneaky peek of Gisele Bundchen for Chanel No.5 to share with you. How exciting! The Brazilian beauty treated her fans to a pic of her on the set of the ad campaign as she posted it to her Instagram account with the caption, “So excited to introduce a behind the scene picture of my next campaign for @chanelofficial. #chaneln5 #theonethatiwant”. Hawk-eyed readers may have noticed that the surfboard Gisele is carrying isn’t your ordinary surfboard, oh no. However, there are a few more strange and unusual facts that make Cyprus so unique. It is the birthplace of love According to Cypriot legend, the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite, rose from the foam (afros in Greek) near a rock in Paphos close to what is now known as Aphrodite’s beach. In fact, some islanders believe that the pillars of foam created by waves breaking over the rock look like the goddess herself.
