And it launches tomorrow. Her previous Christmas collections have left us a little unsure, but this one has definitely got our attention. The collection offers an assortment of luxurious oriental-inspired pieces for day and evening wear that have been designed to make you feel fabulously festive… and a little exotic. Influenced by traditional Chinese and Japanese clothing, the collection fuses the old with the new as silk dresses take on an A/W09 update with gunmetal lurex knitwork and chiffon blouses promise prints of bamboo, lotus flowers and fireworks to reflect the richness of the orient. Basic knitwear is given a glamorous edge with lurex striped shrugs and sequinned knit waistcoats, and Kate brings her laid-back rock ‘n’ roll glamour to key pieces including a sequinned bandeau maxi dress, a strapless mini embellished with black mesh petals and gold beads, an ostrich feather-sleeved shift dress and a one-shouldered long-sleeved oriental sequinned dress – our favourite piece. It all sounds so sumptuous, doesn’t it? But the Christmas collection plays it cool, too, following on from last season with sharp tailoring in the form of pencil skirts and Victoriana jackets. The programme, aptly named James’ Salon, is a fly-on-the-wall documentary about the opening of the super model’s friends first salon, and according to the hairstylist, this is a chance for people to see the real Kate. He told WWD: “People will see how funny and warm and caring she is. “People will see the real her. The one-hour show, which is set to broadcast on E4 on Tuesday 13th October, sees Brown in full swing as he revealed he was involved in all aspects of the salon, from toilet-roll holders to cups and saucers. Not to mention the busy schedule of being a muse, a mum, a girlfriend and an all-round party animal. But now, according to the News of the World Kate has designs on Hollywood. She is reportedly looking for a career with longevity once her modelling days are up. A ‘source’ told the News of the World: “She’s always had dreams of acting. Kate’s nervous but feels, with the right backing, she can make the transition from supermodel to Hollywood star. It is also rumored that she is being aided by Michael Figgis, a film director who worked with Kate on those steamy Agent Provocateur ads. I’m not sure having appeared as Maid Marian in ‘Blackadder Back and Forth’ and Vicky Pollard’s mate in Little Britain Live is really the credentials of a Hollywood A-lister. The ultimate party girl turned 35 on Friday and what does any self-respecting supermodel do to celebrate? Well, have a four-day party of course! After a nine hour drinking session with boyfriend, Jamie Hince and her mother at China Tang restaurant at The Dorchester Hotel, Mayfair. Where they dined on dim sum and Cristal champagne, it was time to prepare for the main event. A medieval themed party was planned at Kate’s £8 million home, it was here the first drama took place when a worker fell ill and was taken to hospital by paramedics. But the show must go on and medieval furniture, deer and moose’s heads were just part of the decor. A pig on a spit took centre stage, not sure what vegetarian guest Stella McCartney made of it. Other guests included Sadie Frost, Davinia Taylor and Rhys Ifans. Guests danced the night away to 80s hits, well until the police turned up asking for the music to be turned down. But the party did not stop, even when a second outing from the police took place. The festivities continued until 7am, much to Kate’s neighbour’s disapproval. Kate certainly shows no signs of slowing, and we wouldn’t want it any other way! [
